Hi

My first properly published Webcomic was My Ice Cream Truck Of Doom Storyline On the 25th of April 2022. I've been around the webcomic scene Just over a year and a half. It's been quite a roller coaster A mostly fun roller coaster. Making Webcomics made me much more sociable online than I used to be. For a while I used to practice my comics in my front room because I thought I was dreadful At the time. Even though i've been doing my best as an artist for the past few years I know that I've still got a long road ahead and that times can change very quickly especially in this day and age.

My second series Thirley Peak has launched as of August 1st of 2023 and i'm in week 14 of my time with it. I love making it and it's reception from the people who have been reading and enjoying it has me over the moon. Some people have been wondering what my plans are in regards to my own comics so i've decided to make this thread for anyone who asks me for future reference.

The journey i'm on feels like a strange one, I feel like some days not much of it has been typical. Thirley Peak Flopped on The Duck, Hawk and Flo Adventures' main site. It got featured and it's got a couple of comments but it struggles to get 30 views in a day. Yep my second series so far hasn't done all that well on there (by that site's standards, anyway, stuff like views, likes, subs work differently and Thirley Peak updates daily on there), the same goes for Globalcomix. It got featured, there was quite a bit of buzz and then it just fizzled out.

There is however mostly good news in regards to Thirley Peak and that's the fact Comic Fury and Tapas seem to go for it. In fact some days Thirley Peak outperforms Hawk and Flo Adventures on Comic Fury, as a result the comic has done well enough (in my eyes) and I enjoy making it to the point where i'm comfortable in supporting the series for years to come. There are a lot of storylines planned, which i'm excited to share with you all. I've also as of yesterday joined Namicomi, Thirley Peak's first 3 chapters are up there to read right now it's still early days and it appears to be a small site but here's hoping. I must confess my main priority when it comes to promoting is either Hawk and Flo Adventures or my own profile itself. Thirley Peak is 'my second series' so it is natural it will grow slower, that and I will be looking to promote it more once there are more chapters available. At the moment It's still too soon to tell how it's going to do.

Hawk and Flo's Ice Cream Truck Of Doom storyline will be coming to an end soon. There's a fight scene and the epilogue to do and that's it. My first storyline for my first comic series will be completed. That being said Hawk and Flo Adventures itself is far from done. Like Thirley Peak it has a lot of storylines planned and they will both run for a long time. The original plan was to have the storylines be separate comics, but given that Hawk and Flo Adventures started gaining momentum on Tapas, i've decided All of the storylines will reside within one comic. On every site i'm on, as a result The Comic's full name will be Hawk and Flo Adventures: Ice Cream Truck Of Doom on certain sites, even though later storylines don't always have Ice Cream Trucks in them lol. I think it's better this way as name changes would break the older links to the comic i've posted on Reddit. That and I don't want to have to start from scratch in anyway shape or form. Not when things like the art style/ stories e.t.c. are already planned out.

On another positive Note Hawk and Flo Adventures won an award on The Duck for best All Ages comic, so yay! it came as a wonderful surprise. I wasn't nominated for any awards, but yeah here we are. I'm using this as my Duck site button from now on shoutouts to Inkymoondrop for designing the award ^^.

I also wish to take this part of the thread to thank everybody who has been supporting my comics, my life has mostly been a bust up until this point lol. The last time I won anything contest related before the Tapas #summertimesweetness thing or the DD award was a roadshow when I was very young. It's felt like quite a long drought in between those two events. Glad the sports team style curse seems to be broken :).

I've given this a lot of thought and i've come to one conclusion, right now I can go all in on this. I can wake up live in front of my laptop, comment on comics, make my own comics, make threads like this one and really go for it. When I was at my Old school I was given a pretty garbage hand to be honest, every day was just about getting to the next and every day was about numbing the pain until it was finally time to get out of there. I don't feel like that when i'm here in webcomic hosting forums, I don't feel like that when i'm in the webcomic communities as a whole. In fact I'm so motivated i'm going to start my third series which will be coming out in April of 2024.

Yep i'm going to throw out the biggest haymaker I can possibly do Metaphorically speaking. I have other series i've come up with over the years but I nicknamed 3 series in particular as the Twistverse 'Big 3' Of Hawk and Flo Adventures, Thirley Peak..

And Phantom Force 3000 Which has one page finished so far and a few that are in the concept phaze. I have a desktop for it on my Patreon and ko-fi and I will share it with all backers that pledge Ā£3 or the equivalent in Tapas Ink.

The plan will be Thirley Peak will go up on Tuesday, Hawk and Flo Adventures will go up on Thursday and Phantom Force 3000 (April 2024 onwards) will go up probably on Saturday or Sunday. I'm not sure which day it will be yet I'm still working on a backlog I might upload on Monday, get it done on weekend post it at the start of the week, again I don't quite know that part just yet. I discovered 3 comics is likely my limit as a creator. For the DD awards presentation week I did 79 panels in total in 1 week. So 19 panel minimum times 3 will equal 57 panels at least. Most of the time my chapters are around 25-30, worst case scenario I update later in the day if i'm dealing with crunch time lol.

One last thing before I finish I will be doing a special Halloween shout out where I carve Pumpkins. Shoutouts in advance to all of my supporters. One off, membership and Ink based  Got 9 Pumpkins to carve this year.. it's going to be fun lol. In future it will be a slot of 5 people who can book it if they want.

So yes, thank you all for putting up with me lol. See you around ^^.
