I'm pretty sure there are many individuals on Tapas who are fans of Warhammer content (mainly for WH4OK).

I remember my first encounter with Warhammer games known as Mark of chaos, It was alright for me, but it wasn't enough to get me invested.

Then came another Strategy game is known as Warhammer 40k Dawn of war and I love that game but I know nothing about its backstory, I only know the space marines are the good guys, Orks are pretty much an annoyance, Eldars are bitches, Imperium of man are cannon fodders, and chaos marines are traitors. I did found Arch Warhammer's channel, but I don't think I could take his lore about WH40K very seriously (though you get good humor from him).

That is until I met a youtube; Leutin09, he is great at explaining Warhammer 40k from the beginning of the war on Heaven to the current time WH40k. If you want to know more about the franchise, go to his channel, and subscribe for more updates.

So it is clear I am very interested in WH40K, I found Bruva Alfabusa on youtube, the man who made Emperor's Text to speech device videos with the help of other YouTubers such as 40ktheories, Zoranthebear, and others for voice acting, I always have a good laugh and enjoyment on his videos, it is a parody about wh40k and a very good fanfiction. His videos made me love Warhammer 40k so much and it helps me recover from stress, I am always filled with calm every time he updated new videos.

And as time moves on, we are getting great content from animators;

Astartes from Syama Pedersen.

Warhammer40k Seige, Death Korps of Kreig from Sodaz.

The lord Inquisitor from Erasmus Brosdau.

And The Raptor from Pontus 51, all are fanmade and have done an incredible effort, this is considered a "golden age" to the Warhammer community.

Until Games workshop made a decision, NO FAN ANIMATION FOR WARHAMMER 40K, I saw that take effect to

Syama's Astartes replacing it from his channel to games workshop's youtube channel; Warhammer +.

Sodaz's youtube channel got deleted.

And Alphabusa decides to go on a Haitus because of what Games workshop is doing.

As far as I know, any other contents such as lore videos, and fanmade music are safe.... for now. What's worse, is that Games workshop can do this legally but this is a stab to the fan's back, especially those who made great fan animations, and I feel this could be the beginning of the end of Games workshop, they are digging their own graves.

Right now I'm frustrated, their franchise would not be where it is today without their fans!

So what do you think about this? What are your thoughts on Games workshop's actions?

What I last heard was Games Workshop was either shutting down or downsizing, citing the recent global situation as the reason.
Maybe they're going after all Fan created stuff off their licensed material to recoup their losses.

It's a crappy thing to do but that seems to be the trend lately. Fans are being ridiculed for being Fans. :rage:

Is it safe to say that they are actually worse than Disney? I mean, sure Disney tolerates their employees to call some of their fans toxic on social media, but they never target those who makes fan-made animations that involves their franchise.

I think Games workshop is doing this maybe out of jealousy, that their fans can do a better job than them.

Why is this any surprise?
Today, fans are the root of any evil for any franchise. No one likes fans. Fans do not follow your protocol and you cant control them.
You are supposed to watch or read what is made and love it, as it is made, and pay money for the product and nothing else.
This is what we see everywhere now.

No fans allowed!

BTW this is how you spell Devil in Swedish: “Fan”

Sorry to be “that guy” but I’m pretty sure this should be in “off topic”

I'm not a big fan of Warhammer, but my partner is... And I love 'If The Emperor Had A Text-To-Speech Device', it's hilarious. (Even if I have very little clue what's actually going on, haha.) I'm heartbroken for them - they put so much work and love into what they do, and to have to abandon it because the company they're helping to promote to new potential fans is going trigger-happy with lawsuits is just... it's so horrible.

My partner follows a huge number of Warhammer channels, and he's absolutely gutted by what's going on.

It just baffles me. A vibrant and creative fanbase is such a huge asset for attracting a steady flow of new audience. What the hell do Games Workshop think they're going to gain by shutting that down? It's just going to push potential new paying customers away.
