What type of artist do you wanna become when it comes to your comic

I've been asked a lot why when I upload my comic, how come I just don't upload one page per week or day in order to give my comic more spotlight and the reason I don't is cuz of the type of comic book artist I wanna be like, I wanna be the type that gets people to binge read and wanna get a lot of content at once rather than just placing a few every once in a while. I also wanna be a comic book artist that portrays a lot of action scenes n gets people pump up reading the fights and imagining it happening in full motion rather than in a comic fashion. I also wanna be a sorta laid back artist where I don't make readers think I'm trying too hard but at the same time let them know that I'm not just taking it too easy when I make my content which is another reason I make lots of pages for each episode, bout 13 pages at least at my early stages n now at least 15 pages

I just want to tell a fun & enjoyable story. My real life somewhat dictates my work speed on my comic, so I only upload once a week because I cant work faster and I want to have a buffer. I dont wanna be the artist who is working on an episode Sunday night and it's due for upload on Tuesday. So in essence, I am the artist that works hard on my comic, but makes it look all pretty & easy coz I have a routine & schedule. It helps having a buffer coz it takes a lot of pressure off- especially when you can get your buffer out there beyond 4 pages.

Mostly I want to put a bit of positivity in someone's day. It seems like more and more people I know are dealing with anxiety, depression, negativity against LGBTQ+. or just the stress that comes with standing out from the crowd or feeling rejected. There's a few really encouraging people in my life that help me get through those things, and I wanted to put some of that back into the world. Not everyone has someone to help them, but if I can bring a moment of comfort or happiness to someone's rough day, I've succeeded with my comic.

The style is also such a different one from my usual vibe that I can take the chance to play with all sorts of character designs, monsters, and random concepts I find amusing (like space llamas.) Working with a limited color scheme and a stronger visual style definitely gives the comic more impact.

I draw in a very Disney-influenced style, so I'm trying to create a nostalgic sort of feeling, while presenting something new. Something that feels familiar to the readers.

In terms of story, I guess you could say it's kind of like a dark fairy tale, but not too dark where a kid would be too scared to read it. What I'm trying to do is make likable characters that overcome a dangerous threat and save a lot of people. I want to run the gambit of emotions, from very silly moments to the more somber scenes, making a nice balance between the two. Hopefully all the mysteries and secrets also keep the readers' attention because I love me a good mystery, too.

I want people to cry for my characters when they cry. I want them to remember my characters and think about them even after they're done catching up with the update. I want the feelings and experiences of my characters to MATTER to people -- on a level beyond being free weekly entertainment, beyond comparison (it's not about being the best; it's about reaching a point where comparing is unimportant).

Maybe I'm wanting more than I should. :'D

i think i wanna be experimental. and i wanna make beautiful comics - not even conventionally, just great to look at, visually interesting.

i dont think i achieve this a lot of the time, especially being experimental; its easy to get stuck in 'okay this is my story, this is my deadline, lets just tell it' but i try to shake up my methods and think things through carefully, especially now TWAW's on hiatus.

The kind of artist that I want to be is one who is competent and kind. I want to be able to tell my story well, to do a good job of realising all the parts and pieces and feelings in my head as something real. And I don't ever want a character to come from a place of hatred or annoyance on my part, even the ones who are horrible!

"What do you want your comic to achieve" seems like an entirely different question to me? I want to tell my story well! but even if I told it perfectly, I can't do anything about what the audience takes away from the experience. "I want to make characters people can deeply empathise with" and "I want people to deeply empathise with my characters" feel like two subtly different ideas, to me -- the first is something I'm in control of; the second one isn't.

@abbastudios I don't care much bout marketing when it comes to my comic to be honest, I was sorta trying to point out that I don't wanna push for the popularity of my comic alot though it would be cool if lots of people enjoy my work, what I was really trying to talk bout is how I wanna portray myself to my readers through my work when it comes to my priorities and how hard I seem to work on it

It's not really a shonen. If you're expecting something that looks or feels like anime, you're going to be very disappointed.

I really enjoy writing horror, tragedies and slice of life type stuff, so I guess what I want is to become a comic creator who is able to get an audience to get attached to the characters and also be affected by the events of the plot. I recently learned that my favourite thing to do when writing horror is to take the things that make people comfortable and turn them into their worst nightmare. But yeah anyways I mostly just want to satisfy myself, so in the future when I post my comics I don't care if they're not popular, I just have a strong desire to write my stories and get shit done.

I want my comics to cheer up people especially those who are being way too hard on themselves. I want to tell them that they don't need and shouldn't carry all the burden of the entire world on their shoulders. This is why I do drama-genre comics. I don't create comics just for plain entertainment like gag-a-days. I want to create stories that invoke positive message in the hope that whoever reads or sees my works will feel better with themselves.

What type of artist I want to become? In general, I want to be someone people look up to and rely on. I want to be that person who can help raise fellow creators, help and improve my drawings by sharing their knowledge that I have learned. I know it's cliche but it's true.

Visually, I want my art to justify whatever stuff I have in mind.

i draw because to be honest I'm an attention ho and i want people to like me. I rarely draw for myself because the act of drawing doesn't make me happy. People saying they like my work or find it nice to look at makes me happy. I enjoy other people's enjoyment.

Okay, based on this response, 5 different readers will have 5 different perceptions of you. You can't control their perceptions. I feel your thought process on this is not clear. No one is ever going to know what your priority is or how hard you work based on your looking at your art. Most people, think this is magic anyway and is easy.

Most of your statements are about external factors you can't control. I still don't know what YOU want to portray to you readers. The closest to a definitive statement you've made is "I want to be an action artist." Now that you are in control of, but everything else you are not.

Past self
I wanted to be popular and started to work towards creating artwork just to get some recognition
This was wayyyy before i joined tapastic & i had to practice and improved alot before my earlier works could even get a light of day from the people i wish to get recognition from.

Current self
However now i'm slowly building up my new series to allowed anyone who enjoys quirky/ random cute comics which are quick and easy to be read.
I wanted to be able share something that i now wholeheartedly do because i enjoy sketching and not to gain fame from it.

Regards to your comic
I do not hate your comic but its probably not my taste in terms of how it was presented.
I don't enjoy binge artworks posted all in one, although plenty of content to read but it gets overwhelming overtime. >.<
