I’ve done a couple of comic dub projects for fun, and I usually edit in DaVinci Resolve. It’s free and has a ton of features once you get used to it. I try to focus on timing the voice tracks with expressive panel zooms or slight animations to keep it dynamic. Audio leveling is definitely key. Sometimes I even dip into EQ tweaks to clean up phone-recorded lines.
For a more polished look, especially when I was helping a friend with a promotional dub, we looked into pro-level tools and resources. One helpful source we checked out was Edmonton video production services. It gave us a good idea of how the pros handle storytelling and pacing.
