What works inspired your comic/novel?

For me, Drosera Overgrown is inspired a tad by My Hero Academia, Chainsaw Man, Invincible, The Boys, a lot by Fallout New Vegas, and weirdly enough, the long forgotten comic series X-Statix, which to this day I will say is a Marvel underrated gem and would be amazing as a Disney+ show.

My comic Mukhtar was inspired by Histories that dates back from the bronze age to the Napoleonic age, all kinds of mythologies, J.R.R.Tolkien's, Goerge.R.R.Martin's, Yasuhisa Hara's Kingdom, H.P Lovecraft, and Avatar: The last airbender.

In 2008, when I wrote a fanfic that'd become my comic, I was inspired by the movies A Walk to Remember and Bridge to Terabithia basically. But I was 12, so it grew with me and now i take inspo in my own life and is really far away from the original. By the original inspo, you can tell that one of the MC would die xD but I'm not sure if I'll go that route, as the message I want to portray is more positive because of the themes I talk about in there. But I think about that a lot. "oh it would be so much easier and dramatic to just kill him"

A lot of shojo manga and anime have a big influence on the drama aspect of my comic.
A Silent Voice, Toradora, Fruits Basket, and Kamisama Kiss to name a few.

Some other inspirations I have are gravity falls, Infinity train, Stranger Things (mainly the first 2 seasons), and random books I read as a 13 year old lol

Typically, it's from one anime call Fate/Stay night. That brought up to my interest. Also, manservant, isekai and fantasy are my favorite genre. My mind had been pilled up by so many interesting ideas for my fantasy world that it became such a hinderance to my daily life. So I decided to put my ideas out into tapas.

Trespasser

The main sources of inspiration for Trespasser are primarily Star Wars, Avatar (the cartoon series) and Full Metal Alchemist. There are also a lot of other minor inspirations that form the rich tapstry of Trespasser.

Conceptually starwars, I'm aethetics maybe star trek and mass effect. I'm not really a fan of any of these things, I just like space and I thought the concept of "what if stormtroopers were actually given narrative weight" interested me. (As in like brainwashed children turned slaves of a massive empire, not as in nazi allegory.)

My novel Spiral Knights: Project R is literally on the major missions from the MMORPG Spiral Knights; it was a huge influence on my life, and I killed me to see it slowly die out despite its potential. I think that is what ultimately led me to writing a story for it; I didn't want to see one of my most favorite games go out with a whimper when it deserved something so much more. And I know a fanfiction novel isn't much, but it's more than the devs are willing to provide for it.

The probably obvious influence on Big Dead Energy is Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's Mo Dao Zu Shi. Then, 19th Century Russian lit and Dickens were big influences, though I don't think anyone would read it and think, "Ah yes, this is just like Gogol." lmao. Assassin's Apprentice is in there, too. A Wizard of Earthsea.
