I'm making a pitch for a comic inspired by Space Dandy, Batman 1966 and Japanese Punk Rock. It's about Kriller King, a dorky sea guardian created by the Cosmic Krill to watch over the oceans of the universe. Together with his sidekick, Blob-Borg (a Blob Fish in a exo suit), they'll battle bizarre threats.
I can't decide on which script to write first, so I think it's best to ask the artists what they want (especially since I'm going to pitch the story to you guys later down the line as a one-shot). Honestly, I don't mind working on both, I just want to put my weird shit online (although due to College, I'll only have time working on one, so :/).
Good Lord! It’s the Octopus Messiah! - The peaceful Octopuffs get revenge on the Planet Yamada for turning them into sushi. How? By swallowing their heads and feasting on their consciousness of course! Once attached, there is no way to remove them. That is until Kriller King and his faithful sidekick, Blob Borg, learn about the “Octo Messiah”; an Octopuff that accidentally ate a meditating man’s head right when he reached enlightenment, becoming one with the universe. The Octo Messiah is capable of ending this whole crisis with a speech provided by the “Big Fish in the Sky''. This speech will usher a new relationship between the Yamadanese and the Octopuffs. Just one problem; the Octo Messiah has been captured by the Devil Fish (a space alien for a Devil Ray for a head), an infamous criminal that controls fish through their arrogance and aggression for the hell of it. After a brief fight scene, Kriller beats the Devil Fish and the Octo Messiah makes his speech. The punchline being that he speaks in his people’s language (which is just nonsensical sounds similar to OctoDad) (“blurb bloob blurb”). The day is saved and Kriller travels the stars with Blob-Borg. Comic ends with a corny PSA on how people have feelings.
What a Whale of a Problem! - On Planet Krillia, a group of Orca mobsters come to kidnap a scientist and his daughter. The mobsters want to use their colossal Whale mech intended for space exploration to steal an energy core that charges the entire planet. Kriller and his sidekick, Blob Borg, infiltrate their base, only for the two to discover that the whale mobsters are all robot puppets created by the scientist’s daughter. She wanted to prove to her dad that she was the better inventor by implementing features he rejected into the mech and then using it to successfully steal the most guarded treasure on the planet. After that, she plans on using the core to power all of her questionable projects. Comic ends with the Orca mech terrorizing a futuristic city resembling Tokyo. Kriller beats the Orca Mech into submission and the daughter is brought into an insane asylum. Comic ends with a corny PSA on listening to your parents.
What do you guys think?
