Artists spend more time at home making art than going outside TT

Alicia (and me) really do nothing but paint/draw/write 90% of the time tbh. It might be a problem

Siblings can read each others minds

I kinda wonder if people will find Honey, Dominic and Cocoa's dynamic unrealistic but in a lot of ways it's based on me and my siblings. we have a lot in common and are often on the same page on a topic fairly immediately.

An older sister is just a second mother

Alicia Palmero, Leia Taylor, Heloise Rayford. Out of my four novels three of the sisters in the stories acted as parental figures for at least a portion of their younger siblings lives, far beyond "I'll help you with your homework or babysit you whole mom is at the grocery store." and more like, "I'll make sure you're eating. I'll help you take care of your hair and stay neat and clean etc."

Even Essence falls into parent mode a bit when trying to teach her little sister moral obligations but Honey Giang is much more sister-mom than Essence.

Not necessarily a cliche or stereotype but I wanted to incorporate my struggles with AuDHD into my characters. Anastasia has adhd whereas Evangeline is autistic. While not directly saying these diagnosis (as they simply do not exist within the time line), I try to make subtle descriptions and inferences through out the novel.

One of the things that I think show cases Evangelines suspected autism is her worry with exactness. Things have to be perfectly on time, she will count down to the millisecond and becomes very anxious when the routines she has in place goes off the mark.

Mentally, if things are not where they need to be exactly at the time they are supposed to be there, she gets really fustrated and angry. She also has a severe noise sensitivity and often struggles with interactions (and trusting people) outside of her very small circle of friends.

There's other things with her that I simply cannot dive into within this post.

Anastasia, on the other hand, deals with ADHD. She has moments of hyperactivity and other moments where she feels as though she cannot move a muscle. Her mind can freeze up and she loses her sense of time. She can be seen as impulsive multiple times throughout the novel. However, there are moments where these quick reactions actually help Evangeline.

Not to mention, when Anastasia is focused on something, someone cannot simply stop her. She does not like the rigid schedule and prefers having breaks in between to decompress. Additionally, the things she is really good at are what she occasionally hyper fixated on. Its a super power for her lol. One of the two is her ability to win any card game thrown at her, she is excellent at poker and blackjack. She also has a knack from designing dresses and learning about history of these clothing

Ofc, as a princess, people cant really know about this but I think its just something neat that I try to incorporate into everything.

I bet it annoys people that she wins every card game Lol

I've known what it's like to be at the bottom of the social hierarchy. The omega male. The untermensch.

Because of that, I cared more about fighting than school grades (in between coping hard by making comics). Been in at least 20 physical fights by the time I graduated high school.

That's why I resonate with anything that has fights in it.

Fights have always been a staple in my comics

Rose’s encounter with truck-kun is based on something that really happened to me. I overestimated the time I had to cross an intersection and got hit by a road vehicle. Although in my case it was not a semi truck but a sedan. It is also why I included the line : “I should have listened to my parents and worn a helmet.” because that is probably the reason I’m still alive, helmets save lives.

Yikes. I've been hit by a car on a bicycle before too. I hope you weren't hurt too badly

Nothing was broken but I was roughed up pretty bad. I also think I managed to do more damage to the car than it did me.
