What's that sound effect?

Sound effects are an important part of any comic, especially one with a lot of action. But sometimes coming up with a sound effect can be challenging. You just can't get the sound you hear in your head squeezed into a couple letters. Well, I've got a good imagination, and I happen to love onomatopoeia and sound effects, so here I am offering my help!

This thread is a resource for anyone who is having trouble picking a sound effect for a particular scene or action. Describe the thing you want to generate a sound effect, or post a picture of the panel, and I and anyone else who would like to pitch in will try to suggest a sound effect for you!

@Kamikaze I'm very much a communicates with sound person. I've got specific noises that mean a variety of things, not that anyone besides myself really understands them XD As for repeating the sounds I might write in a comic, I always repeating things, so likely yes.

If you want to see great sound effects, read Skullkickers or The Incredible Hercules - they are great at communicating sound, emotion, and humor.

Just for fun (if you feel like it) and also because I have always wondered, what is the sound of a car engine starting? Brmmmm Brmmm seems inappropriate and a bit silly to me.

Ah I love Digimon!

Try finding a soft blanket or pillow in your house and rub you hand across it and listen to the sound it makes, specifically the syllables. I've seen "scritch" used for scratching a furry animal.

but i'd still like to pet/stroke her gently on her head/back

but pachuamon; tatsumon's in-training form, her neck fluff is so nice & fluffy ^^
