I am publishing my first graphic novel via Tapastic, A Legend (of Some Sort) - it is an homage to classic fantasy video games like Zelda - but also a bit of a parody. Starting September 12, 2015, it is updating daily!

I am writing my next graphic novel as well, which will be about [REDACTED] [REDACTED] and the [REDACTED] of the [REDACTED] [REDACTED].

Feel free to say hi! I don't bite!

Interesting - I have read most of things Nick and Tom have said (and have met both men, full disclosure) and i don't recall it being 'final' anywhere - Tom has said several times that nothing is final, this is comics. They did say this is canon - its not a clone/out-of-continuity-tale, etc - canon m…

To those who are concerned: this is just a cliffhanger plot twist, like every TV show has before every commercial break - the only difference is, there is 30 days between moments instead of 3 minutes of commercials - modern Marvel/DC comics are run like TV episodes consisting of 4-6 issues per episo…

man, now i am really tempted to play this game and go through the pages marking which i would look at... but i don't want to hurt anyone's feelings!

I think both looks are fine, personally - as far as the art goes, you can improve on form/consistency but so can we all! The painted style works well for you. If you want an improvement tip, I'd study human figures more and practice muscles/bone structure/etc to get better poses, but honestly it's…

Here are some pictures of the Squire from A LEGEND (of some sort). [image] [image] [image] PS if you do draw him, i can include it in the gallery at the back of the printed book, which is being worked on after a kickstarter that ended last week!

33 Years old, collecting comics since 1996! I own 15000+ issues, about 60% in tpb or hc form! I'm a crazyhead! How I adulted: I stopped buying regular issues of comics. I only buy paperbacks and hardcovers (I love omnibuses). I basically read Newsarama, CBR, Bleeding Cool and see what is good,…

This panel always made me smile: [image]

I don't mirror, the comic is only on Tapastic! I do have a clean URL for it though: www.alegendofsomesort.com Tumblr Twitter Kickstarter Facebook

my comic is an affectionate parody of one particular game series - it's called A LEGEND (of some sort) and you can read the entire thing on tapastic right now!!

Oooh! I am launching on 4/6/16 for the complete printed book of A LEGEND (of some sort) so i will be sure to save this spot!

Pages I am happy with: Pencils/Inks: 3 hours Colors: 6 hours Pages I stopped caring about and just want to be done: Pencils/Inks: 2 hours Colors: 3 hours

100% of A Legend (of some sort) was done before posting - it was the only way i could guarantee a schedule with my worklife/busyness. i am glad i waited though, rather than having an audience wait 4.5 years to finish a 200 page story...

my characters are on the run for most of the story, so they don't change clothes very often, and when they do, it's addressed in-story. Additionally, I use their clothes to intentionally homage the Legend of Zelda stories, since my comic is a loose parody. Squire: -Starts out in pajamas, which qu…

maybe look for a segment of some famous quote or phrase - like Trouble Enough or Collective Ignorance or Blinding Idiocy

well, what are the themes/main ideas of your comic? What kind of comedy are you peddling? What are the jokes about?

The united states has certain states which tax goods sold over the internet, including books - i don't know what site you are on but you may want to ask their customer support/check their FAQ on how they handle international requests.

No show quite like it in the 'verse. smile

i agree about Gates of Ferno overall - seems more compelling, inviting, mysterious

First: I would tighten the gap between the bottom of the O - without reading your text, I thought it said "Gates of Fern" and "Fern". smile [image] Second, what is the story more about? The land of Ferno, or do the gates to this land have any specific tie in?

i have a dozen or so, at last check, who only subscribe to me (or i was their first). me, to each of them: [image]

Dude, after this thread, I am totally rethinking my "How to Crack a Safe" webcomic... smiley All kidding aside, I think @PixyByte, @Riko and others make some good points - in my view, you are not morally obligated for others actions after reading your fiction. Their actions are their own. Just by s…

Comics I have actually created in my life: 1) A 25 page comic about a bob-omb from Mario Bros.(not online anymore) 2) A 4 page comic about a superhero named The Onion (not online anymore) 3) A 9 page comic about Wolverine and Doop fighting zombies (not online anymore) 4) A 670 page comic about a c…

Black Jack Justice from Decoder Ring Theater - comedic noir crime thriller tales that would be oh-so-fun!

I will be at C2E2 this year - getting ready to print my comic so next time i may splurge for Artist's Alley

X-Men Animaniacs Pinky & the Brain TMNT Ducktales Batman the Animated Series those were probably my favorites as a kid. The order is different nowadays

i rarely comment on other series - but love the ones i get on MY series (except the people who use R-rated profanity cause it is a PG comic). i should probably comment more. I never know what to say besides variations on "good job"

yeah i have updated 155 days straight and have gained subscribers and viewers steadily - i MAY have gained more if i spaced it out but then again I may not have - many of them have commented how much they love the daily updates!

i waited until my entire story was finished so i had a multi-hundred page buffer - that way i could ensure life delays wouldn't impact the comic - and my readers have responded extremely well to that! however, it is hard to work in a vacuum, so good luck!

I don't think you have to start writing knowing the ending, but I think its a good idea to start PUBLISHING knowing the ending. A few reasons: 1) your audience can sense meandering. If your story started with a Big Epic Adventure premise or Gigantic Mystery but you spend pages upon pages spinni…
