I was wondering this, since I've asked before that I wanted to find BL with more plot than just the romance, aside of that the one I just can't seem to find is an isekai or reincarnation story where the main protagonist is a male character that is gay XD (if it was one of those going back in time would be awesome too)

I've read many manwhas of girls reincarnating in other worlds and them having their romance with a guy but ughh I want something like this but BL  A guy reincarnating and finding their man even if dunno they thought they'd fall in love with a woman XD

TBH I would also like it even if it isn't BL if the main character that reincarnates is a guy XD (I already know of the beginning after the end but that's like one I'm always recommended u_u I've also read trash of the count's family, but yeah, like I want moreeee)

Hm, aside of these, I'd like to see more stories like death note in the sense of the protagonist having objectives that place him as a "villain" in the sense of for example Kira vs L/police xD so if you know of any male main characters that are cunning, intelligent and have this villain aura I would love some recommendations :coffee_love:

(Ah, ofc, I will aways be looking for brother themed stories so you can recommend me more too though I did open a thread focused on that one. If anyone here knows do recommend me but through there as to not repeat threads XD)

But anyway! What's that storyline you've been wanting to read but can't find? Who knows maybe others know about it and will recommend what they know :tapa_pop:

There are a lot of stories where the MC is an anti hero.
In terms of webcomics though.. I'm not sure, but I don't read a lot of em anyways lol.
Hope you find one like that!

Yess I can imagine there may be many stories but there's nothing like personally recommended ones ;D I think the not finding many anti heroes would be in anime perhaps. Gotta admit I haven't actively looked for comics with this theme, I might try to at some point cause I really do like them haha

And yess hope I can! Though tbh it was more of an example so others can share more than asking for recommendations haha. I don't expect people to find my specific interests :cry_01: So I'm good with everyone sharing their frustrations :tapa_pop:

Ohh if you do please do say! :tapa_pop: Mangas or even novels are fine by me as long as they're good :smug_01:

Hm, I've talked about specific scenes I want to see but have trouble finding1, but as for entire storylines:

  • a slice-of-life set in a fully fleshed-out fantasy world with super in-depth worldbuilding that doesn't feel 'gamey' and the characters' daily lives feel truly foreign from our own, but there also aren't any high stakes plots so we can relax and really soak in the details of this world
  • a story where the issues the characters face are caused by someone being too selfless
  • (EDIT: oh, oh, one more thing! 'Scientific method fiction' A story where the characters try to figure out how the fantasy world they live in works, using controlled experiments and constructing rigourous models, but the audience follows this development from ground up and so is perfectly capable of understanding all the jargon and everything  I didn't think to list this seperately because I'm combining this with #1 on this list (the slice-of-life) in a project I'm planning, but it could totally be separate :P)

Hmm can you elaborate on the selfless causing issues? Is it like an innocent character causing disgraces because of not thinking things through for example? :0

Fire Punch has some weird themes and such, but if you can get past it it has an anti hero protagonist
That's the most recent one I've read.. My MC's gonna be an anti hero I think because I like stories like that, but angled more on the good side than any bad side, I guess.

Yesss, it sounds really interesting, the selfless one! Thus why I'd want more details :tapa_pop: because I'm sure I've read those types tbh though I can't remember right now XD

I was thinking more like, someone wants to help someone else/fix a problem they see, but they want to take ALL the responsibility for fixing it and refuses to burden other people with the issue, so they do it all by themselves and screw up because ... yeah, I guess they didn't think things through because they're only one person so they'll inevitably miss some things even if they're not particularly innocent or naive :stuck_out_tongue:

Ahhhh I've seen that but like in character's behavior in animes for example of the character being kind but screwing everything over and over, but gee as for storylines that have that as a main theme... yeah, at least I don't remember if I have seen any right now :0 If I ever do I'll be sure to tell you B)

Oh, I'm interested in places where it's not the main focus as well! (If it doesn't take too much effort for you to dig up ofc XD)

Well the protagonist in cells at work is always trying to do her work but always ends up apologizing because she gets lost and such failures to do her work hahah

In My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! Not really trying to take responsibility and failing but she thinks she screwed up important moments and such and ends up apologizing, hmm...

In Keroro Gunsou there's this pair in which the girl always apologizes for his brother being useless constantly

That's the most I can come up with right now XD But if I remember more I'll tell you, my brain just started to come up with characters that just apologize xD

Ah, I guess I was more thinking about people who cause problems because they're trying to take extra responsibility (so for instance, does the protagonists in Cells at Work get lost and fails at stuff because she insists on taking on more than she has to?)

(Or if their apologies cause more problems in and of themselves, I guess that also counts :P)

Thanks anyway

Ahhh I see! Hmm, the protagonist causes problems just doing her work cause she is new so I guess that doesn't apply to what you're looking for.

If I do run into a story like what you're looking for, I'll be sure to tell you though :tapa_pop:

I'm eagerly looking for a storyline rooted firmly in real-world social justice. I would love to have a crusader emerge and fight for the oppressed. The real-world social justice I want to see should be on the lines of oppression as mentioned by Isabel Wilkerson in her book, Caste. It would be wonderful to either have Baba Saheb Ambedkar's life in comics or have a fictionalized version of Baba Saheb Ambedkar born in present times crusading and championing the fight against caste system.

You have GOT to read The Firelight Isle. I think it might be exactly what you're looking for.

Haha I checked it out after you mentioned the creator got it printed it on a scroll :stuck_out_tongue: A bit more plot-focused than what I had in mind in this thread, but I did enjoy it a lot - the worldbuilding was definitely up my alley

I lowkey need more comic with strong and dominant female lead. Most female MC I came across are soft and obedient(?) towards the male MC I guess?
I don't hate it though, haha.

Relationship stories with the topic cheating.
Normal romance stories are too boring for me.
Stories where someone is dying are too sad for me.
Cheating is interesting because it´s a fear that most people have
and this means it can be used as an exciting plot element

Oh I recommend you reading "Beware the villainess!" for a strong female MC, the one in "Villains are destined to die/ death is the only ending for the villainess" is another one I like with a strong female MC! BD

I'll be the matriarch in this life also features a really strong willed/ smart female MC

Master villainess the invincible has a badass MC female so I recommend that one too ^^

I actually have read many with strong females, you mostly find them in reincarnation stories where the girls reincarnate as the villain in a novel. (Though they are villains, the majority wants to do good cause most of the time if they follow the storyline as the villain they die)

More webnovel But birth of sin more less dominate main female lead. Warning it gets very violent and fucked up. So a little heads up

I generally find what I usually want and if I can't find it I'll make it myself. But I would like more villan focus trouple stories. With the trio are a plotting together for evil shit

Also more reverse harems where the female mc is less submissive and picks all the guys instead of one.

Have you read "Roxanne"? That one has a heavy focus on villains as the female MC lives in a family of villains :eyebrows:

I don't know who she ends up with in the novel but it may interest you :0 If you find ones with more villain focus I'd like to know of them too BD

Oh? :eyes: and where it is? is it on tapas or else where?

Oh shit I nearly forgot the rest of my recs. I'll get to sending more of them lol.

Yeah I do like a good villan focus story especially if they bond together of their mutual evil and messed up love :relieved:

It's on tapas but you can find it elsewhere as well, basically looking for it on google will give you where to read, just look for it as "Roxanne"

Thank you so much for the recommendations!:yellow_heart:
I'll check it out~ Finally, I can read strong female MC! :persevere:

It mostly seems like stories with mentors are a man who is helping out a boy or girl. And maybe I sort if want to see more mentors who are women.

Or just comics in general with older women who a) aren’t a jealous villainess or b) whining about how she’s too old to date.

I just read one in which the mentor is a woman, it's a new one called "Jack be invincible" if I'm not mistaken! It's on Tapas actually.

if I run into more like these I'll be sure to tell you ^^

Good point,
I think there are creators who want to stay very close to an existing style, universe,
storytelling style and some who are more adventurous.
I have been in a big how to draw comics group on facebook and it was mostly people
who didn´t want to create storylines the can´t find, they all wanted to create comics
in the marvel/dc universe, with existing characters and stories that a similiar to the ones
that they knew. That´s why I left the group at some point, I´m not interested in already
existing universes
