Yes, you read it right. It could be out of the ordinary, and you can explain on what inspires you to get such an idea of the design. I'll start first:

This is a Darklord. The idea of the design was inspired by Lovecraftian monsters. Though it may have a little inspiration from Warhammer Fantasy's Chaoslord from GamesWorkshop, it's lore of how it came to be was not from the blessings of the chaos gods but from a sentient mutation. A chosen lord to lead the darklings from the deep mountains to the surface:

The idea of their origin is inspired by Tolkien's Nameless things, where Gandalf explain to his companions (Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas) about his experience when he and the Balrog have reached the bottom of Moria, he did give us a small hint about the nameless things but he won't speak more about them for he wishes not to darken the light of day. This scene does not appear in the movies, only in the books.
If you watched the extended version, Gandalf did darken the day by using the black speech of Mordor. So talking about them may have the same effect too:
And surprisingly, anyone who watch The lord of the rings Trilogy did encounter a nameless thing. An Octopus-like creature known as the watcher that nearly devoured Frodo before they enter Moria.
If you want to know more about the nameless things, there are videos that explains their origins, this one bring my favorite:
Now is your turn, What's the most bizarre looking character you've ever drawn in your life?

This Darklord character has just been revealed recently so don't expect much scene about it in my comic. However, if there is a chance to make more scenes about them, I will draw more about them in my comic.
