What's the most unusual place where you started drawing?

These days i couldn't be very active here because i went to a Comicon (amazing experience) so my energy was completely drained XD
During the trip i found myself sketching on the train and it was so funny and inspiring! But also weird cause i drew as i was surrounded by many people looking at my sketchbook and felt awkward lol but discovered that i get a positive pressure from people watching me drawing.
Where is the the most unusual place where you found yourself drawing sometimes?

its hard for me to enjoy drawing on a bus or train as i tend to find having people watch me is more uncomfortable and distracting rather than encouraging. it could be because I've had to deal with to many random old men trying to use it as a means to drum up conversation but that's just me.

but when its not some random spot in my house I've taken to the floor in corners of the library, certain spots in different parks either under a tree or if I'm lucky some huge rock or by the few decent waterside spots with a halfway decent place to sit and sketch

honestly i think you can draw just about anywhere it's just a matter of making it work

I also tried drawing while on the train a few times, but I found drawing in shaky trains way too uncomfortable. I don't have problem with people watching me drawing, since I get so focused I don't even notice if someone's watching me. xD

Once I tried drawing in the toilet. Don't recommend it.

Drawing in the library was a very calming experience for me. We had these small little spaces with comfortable chairs that oddly inspired me to draw my characters also relaxing in a library setting!

Not so much an "unusual" place to draw, but it definitely was different than drawing at home.

i try to avoid drawing in public places for my tendency to make the same expressions i draw. Which can be extra awkward when i draw weird faces.

The weirdest place would be on a beach. When i was a kid, i LOOOOVED to draw, anywhere....so i always carried pencil and papers wherever i go.

Since I don't draw on paper anymore and use a tablet, I usually draw only at home. But there was one time I went to my mom's in another city and I had to do about some art for my "1 page 1 day" routine (more like 10 pages 4 hour trip lol) . I ended up sitting in the train chair for 4 hours with my laptop and tablet on my lap, while there were two kids sitting near me, who were playing word hunt and asking me a hundred questions about what I am doing. It was super uncomfortable for more than few reasons, but quite fun

The weirdest place was a waiting room in a hospital, everybody noticed me putting colour on a draw I think I'll never be able to finish (that pavement I put as background is endless ).

Waiting at the bank, at restaurants, parties, I've found out that I draw well when I'm stuck somewhere with nothing else to do. Doodling while I subbed for a professor to guard an exam was fun, nice and quiet

I travel by train a LOT and I always draw in trains

The most unusual place I started drawing was in a rollercoaster waiting line. I had to wait over an hour to ride my fav rollercoaster so why not draw while waiting xD

stealth drawing people on the train is a lot of fun! ive had a few ppl ask to look through my sketchbook on the train before, which has always been afun if bewildering experience

maybe my weirdest drawing experience was while i was working tech on a student production, i drew the actors lolling about during notes. that was a lot of fun

Not sure if this could be considered 'unsual' but I was participating in a martial arts competition and started drawing in my downtime since it was the perfect opportunity to practice drawing people interacting with each other

when i've been waiting in long lines at disney ive been busting out my ipad and drawing there. i get kinda self conscious with all the people so close but i get a lot done during that actually? the parks have free wifi too so i can grab my comic pages from clip's cloud.

Music makes me feel like drawing =/ and that shit was all live and stuff quality work music.

nah the queue kinda pushes itself along and everyone being so close kinda naturally keeps me aware of my surroundings (i get anxiety when i feel like people are staring at what im drawing)

I didn't think it of at first since it's generally not a choice for me to be there and it's not like it's a place I could leave on my own. The IV in your arm makes it hard though, but when you're stuck there for days you kinda learn to deal.

I've sat in a car in a parking lot to draw a bunch of times. I guess that's a little unusual.

I usually avoid drawing in public though. Too self-conscious!
