Lol we can't do a lot of stuff in our house because of my bro... He also loathes jazz music, which is unfortunate because that means I'm not allowed to blast Charlie Parker on repeat everyday
how can one not like jazz?
i think it might be because he's a really classical pianist? He's pretty serious about reading what's on the sheet and he thinks that when jazz musicians improvise, it's when they don't know how to read off the sheet music properly.
Oh dear I feel sorry for your brother
i always though jazz improv required a lot of skill especially when it comes to playing the right notes. Plus you gotta know the sheet music before you can play a song
Exactly! Without improvisations a jazz song wouldn't be "jazz"...
(oops I'm getting ahead of myself)
I love coltrane! but yeah that really is true
as someone who's not even that music savvy i know that's a lot of switching up but it's done really well (i'd really like to pick up piano again though)
You really should! Piano is the most powerful instrument ever in my opinion
I've always heard people say it's a good base when learning music since it's the best way to learn notes, chords and the like. I only ever played a little in my music appreciation class but that was when the teacher was prepping the band for school events so we kinda got to do whatever =v=) and the only first act (i think it was) keyboard died cause the batteries corroded the insides. But I wont give up!
Determination is key
Another Auld Lang Syne because I'm a bitter person and I like melancholy holiday songs.
