What's your favorite genre to write/draw?

I've always loved writing crime and mysteries with a sub-genre of romance. But I want to try out something new. I'm not really sure where to begin though. I've considered attempting paranormal and vampires. I'd love to hear what your favorite genres are, so comment below. Feel free to share your story too. (Both novels and comics)

Im all about Mediveal Content with a specific love for the middle ages. A common theme in my stories is always centered around perservation of family and a young hero going on an epic adventure to protect that which he loves and learnign some brutal life lessons along the way.

Another genre that I love (to a lesser degree) is space-themed action/ horror stories. I love the idea of zombies in space and I think it needs more love in the comic and novel world. I have a space themed survival horror comic in the works but its not ready for public view yet.
In the meantime, I'd suggest you to look into the action and adventure world of comics, especially my own comic called King of Roo.

I like creating action related stories. However, I have a very dry sense of humor and I add alot of that into my work. I decided to go all out and combine the two in my latest comic which is more on the comedy side than the action. If your interested take a look.

My favourite to create are historical ones. It can be fantasy or situated in real times mixed with other genres. But I always perefer times when there wasn't much of technology.

I love traditional fantasy.

I have drawn other people’s OCs from the forum which makes me work outside of my comfort zone though.

I feel good with sci-fi and romances. I feel weaker with fantasy BUT I actually draw fantasy right now xD I know its crazy xDD

It's completely unaligned with what I like reading, but I feel most comfortable writing romance just because I love digging into strong emotions and interpersonal relationships and I'm not so good at strong adventure/politics/war plots, which is what I tend to read.

But the thing that underlines what I write the most is just that "something weird/dark", 'cause I like to bring in kinda disturbing/grungy elements into what I write - it's not fun otherwise!

Mostly action... good vs. evil kinda stuff. I also enjoy either modern city-like settings or futuristic stuff. This, usually, the stuff that appeals to me the most. Good guys fighting bad guys. I do enjoy being a bit cliched or somewhat cheesy but it can be charming, at the same time.

I do also insert humor here and there to lighten up the mood.

I love to write romance! Because I'm not a fan of mainstream romances, I am compelled to write what I want to see. I also like writing low fantasy and paranormal stuff because it fascinates me.

As for what I read, historical fiction all day lol. I love real-world history and I feel that such stories bring me closer to the past without being as dry as a textbook.

I'd enjoy drawing anything except slice of life or comedy (a little would be fine but I'd get bored if there's not an overarching plot with some emotional drama or action/adventure). I think horror/sci-fi/mystery could be fun but maybe not best fit for my style. Fantasy with romance and action/political drama is my dream project.

Our favorite is definitely action/adventure. It's even in our little motto. However, because of the amount characters we have, the goal is for us to try our hands in different genres as well. Including Fantasy, Sci-fi, Western, etc. Although we haven't gotten around to it though. But there's a time and season for everything:

Definitely fantasy, sci-fi and romance. I'm very much a character writer, I love delving into very heartfelt and poignant moments, which romance is perfect for... But I also love the world-building, adventure, and artistic freedom which fantasy and sci-fi provide. I can't see myself ever writing a real-world romance series, but swirling it through other stories as a sub-genre? Yes.

Mine will be fantasy and action and that’s what I am working on. Intimidating at first with all the poses I will have to draw in the future, and how to sequence it so people can understand the actions. But just gotta do it I am more comfortable with drama and a bit comedy.
