What's your sense of humor?

I want my comic to have good humor sprinkled in. I know humor is subjective but I want to see what people who use the site find the most humorous.

Also what is juvenile humor exactly? I hear people dislike that but what accounts for such a type of comedy?

Since juvenile means peeps under 18 (at least in the US), I'm guessing that's like fart jokes or dropping worms down people's shirts. But I'm not sure.
My humor tends to be sarcastic, if that helps?

Yeah, poop, farts,pee, snots, poopypants, etc.. I personally avoid it in my comic.
Example of juvenile humor:
Teacher: Brandon, go to the director right now!
Brandon: but...
Random student: lol, he said butt!

I think I prefer humor that falls under the likes of absurdist, dry/witty, dark, and intelligent humor. "Intelligent humor" probably isn't the actual term but for lack of a better phrase that's what I'd call it. It's really just humor that you have to sort of think about or pay attention closely to get. Sometimes it's a background detail or a small line from a character that comes into relevance later. I think that kind of humor helps to engage the reader in the story more because they have to connect the dots and make the realization themselves.

And as for juvenile humor, it's pretty much bathroom humor I'd say.

I enjoy:

Surreal humor: i love when things get absurd (as long as it has a good set up)

Relatable humor: i enjoy when people make jokes about the typical things that happens in daily life. (Except when a joke was overused)

Sarcastic humor: every once in a while i like a dose of savagery.

Cringe comedy: a kind of humor about awkward situations, i love it!

Dark comedy: i like it, but as long as is not so dark. How much darkess i enjoy varies from show to show.

Meta humor: jokes that play with reader's expectation or jokes about jokes themselves.

Running gags: jokes that are further explored in future episodes or recurring jokes, but only as long as it doesn't get too repetitive and sometimes they give the joke some twists.

Brick joke: a joke, phrase or event that becomes relevant later in a hillarious way.

I also like when something funny happens in the background.

I'm just gonna copy paste my replies to some humor threads in the past lol.

I'm weird with humor, the last time I laughed my ass off at a piece of media was that one bit in Django Unchained where the slave hunters were complaining about their hoods. I had never laughed so hard at a scene in a movie.

But my favorite comedian is Gabriel Iglesias. He's funny without being in-your-face offensive and a lot of his jokes are story-based which I really appreciate. So I suppose I do like comedy that focuses on the quirks of life.

Example: One time I really laughed until I was gasping for air in real life was just during a conversation amongst a group of friends. So some background info, this is my group of con friends and it was the first Silicon Valley Comic Con. Stan Lee was there and had a photo op, a few in my group took that opportunity and they mentioned how in every photo Stan Lee took with fans he was in the same position, seated with arms folded. We had a running joke that he was an animatronic. Somehow this time we got on the topic of how there is a certain culture that will preserve the body of a loved one shortly after they've died and pose it so living relatives can have one final picture with them. And then my friend went and said, "Oh so like that photo you guys took with Stan Lee!"

And just recently with the same friend group we went out for frozen yogurt after another con and one was wondering how customers can't just run out with the yogurt without paying. He then noticed an exit sign with a little person pictured running out the door and he said "He's got the right idea."

Black humor, shock humor, dumb jokes, self deprecation, satire, things intended to be funny but isn't funny but you end up laughing at it because it either confuses you or surprises you is that even a genre??

My humor is the type that makes other people laugh and say "You're going to Hell."

I laugh when I see a dead body. I clap when blood splatters everywhere.

I just like seeing gore.

I think a lot of my humor gets overlooked as people think I'm being serious or super gullible, when really I'm playing along, or "playing stupid". But that just makes it all the more funny to me.

As for what I like to read, I love running gags. I love a joke that has been set up early on and then suddenly resurfaces later unexpectedly. I also enjoy clever puns and, "dad jokes" plus the inevitable mockery of a character that uses them.

Sometimes I like juvenile humor- a lot of the humor in a movie like "Super Bad". I imagine it's bad rep is sometimes it can also come off as too crass to people, but to me that is sort of the point. I think where I don't like this type of humor is when it's incorporated purely for shock value.

I have a really dark sense of humor. (Well I do write a comic called Existentialist Crisis. Dark angst is my bae) I usually prefer Beckettsian style but I am also cool with Oscar Wilde style satire.

people say there is good humor in my comics and i have some dark humor too, interactions between character is mostly fun for now and i take a lot of fun making them banter / talk to each other, especially in my latest pages ^^

Types of things I find funny (in order)

1) Stupidness. Like Beavis and Butthead and old Tagalog comedy shows. Anything where protagonist and anyone else are bumbling idiots who cant get anything right and screw themselves and others over because of stupidity.

2) Politically incorrect. Like Southpark, King of the Hill, Jeff Dunham, etc. I

3) Dark humor. Anything joking about death, abuse, and other "touchy-feely" subjects. Oh btw I've been an abused child myself and jokes like referring to my parents as "awesome" or "my best friends ever" have been crucial in helping me forgive and get over child abuse. lol And I have a coworker who was a veteran in both Iraq wars who was shot in the chest. He jokes about it like its nothing. Helps him cope with his PTSD.
