What's you're favorite anime series and why?

My favorite anime is JoJo. A close second is Haikyu! If I had to say what anime inspired my story, it would be Yu Yu Hakusho (and I see @alexlcuri07 said the same thing ). Some of the wit and vibe of the show is in my characters and it’s one that I’ve watched like 5+ times. My early premise for non human being falling in love with a human came from Yu Yu Hakusho (even though some parts have changed since then).

From the ones that I watched, I loved Yuri On Ice the most. Black Butler came the close second. I'd like to write a project that will have influences of both, particulary the Black Butler, though I am not interested in Victorian theme, just the love stories and the demon-angel-human mix.

My favourite of all time has probably gotta be Deathnote, if only because it's such a fuckin masterpiece. Otherwise, FMA and bleach, Jojo more recently for how hilarious it is, and Psycho-Pass was one that surprised me in how memorable and interesting it was.

I'm watching one piece rn and I love it so much, definitely gonna be a favourite. OPM I can only in good conscience say the manga is one of my favourite because they butchered season two so badly

Ok, it's Symphogear, but everything else is level. Probably. I mean, smash Lyrical Nanoha, Macross and Madoka together and enjoy the madness that is insanely over the top music powered mecha magical girl armour, with a stellar voice cast, surprisingly good representation and mostly tactful dealings with dark and sensitive topics without feeling dark dark grim dark. Hibiki can punch out a mountain, suplex a spaceship in the first five minutes of a season. It's on Crunchyroll now, it has proper subs now, it's legal. There is no excuse anymore. Look at her go.

In conclusion, watch Symphogear. (This is basically just my tagline at this point)(I am of the contraversial opinion this is the magical girl Aoi Yuki should be known for, it's just better)

The first season was really good because they had the guts to do an unexpected ending. Then they retconed the events and I’ve stopped caring.

There are two that stand high above the rest, Monster and Lupin iii. Both have inspired me a great deal, but for my comic, Lupin iii in particular. I wanted my characters to have a similar kind of dynamic to the Lupin crew and the comic itself to have a similar kind of comedy. I also think I've taken a lot of the art style, but you can be the judge of that. Neither are a part of my childhood, they're sort of adult shows I found in high school. Monster has inspired me just as much, but it probably doesn't show because of the tone of my work. Monster's writing is absolutely top notch complex, one of the best in any media ever. The creator is a master of suspense. You won't find a better thriller anywhere.

Gurren Lagann takes my cake. I saw it during a time when my spirits were low, and it was exactly what I needed to pull me out of my funk.

Any time anyone asks for an anime, I immediately tell them Gurren Lagann.
It's over-the-top ridiculous, but that's the point.
Its heartfelt messages hit me right in the soft spots. It's contributed to my writing inspiration.
