When a chapter takes FOREVEEEEEERRRR!

Anyone else spent a entire day or more on a chapter that, in hindsight; SHOULDN'T of took that long?

Like seriously, errands aside; a chapter takes so freakishly long! Anyone else has trouble with this?!!

Not with comics, but with writing chapters (which honestly should take less time, because writing is easier to correct) I have had chapters take longer than I feel like they probably should, and still seem kind of mid, at least imao, when they're finished, which makes it even more annoying.

Depends on what you mean by chapter, everyone works differently. Takes me at least half a year to finish a chapter or longer depending on page count. I'm not working in scrolling format.

I imagine it takes most of us days to complete our work depending on the pace.

I just don't worry about it anymore, it's done when I'm happy with it. I'm not beholden to anyone's standard and timetable but my own.

Yup, I define a chapter as a single book, finished 2 so far, each having a page count of 115. Been working on it since June 2019! So 4,5 years to get 2 chapters done, with 3 more to go

As a comic writer usually I give myself 2 days to write a script for 30ish panels (its a weekly comics).

I get this: my novel; UBETNATURA was supposed to be simple, it's literally just script and maybe slightly heavier descriptions of people and areas but nothing that should take hours.. But yet and STILL!!

I can't convey how much I agree with this: both comics and novels can drag on, and on, and on, and ON!

Comics take forever.

I am very much in 'this is a marathon' mode.

Drawing a page takes me roughly a week. (I COULD do it in a day or two, but if I kept up that pace I'd burn myself out in a month.)

My first chapter had more than 100 pages. I'm 45 pages into chapter two. I have AT LEAST five chapters planned.

This is going to take me years.

Yes!!! This is me right now!!! (which is why I probably should be away from this forum and work lsndcijncknsdl)
I plan to finish it today, or tomorrow should be the last day I'm working on this chapter!
