When did you get into making comics?

Making comics? let's see... I can remember making comics way back when I was 8. But I don't have them anymore, my mom probably threw it in the trash. Then Dragonball came when I was 12 so that inspired me to draw comics again. My style evolved through time until it reached the style I have now. The oldest hard copies of comics I made was the series I made back in 1998... they are now stuck to my wall as wallpaper.XD As for webcomics, I started U-Speed Jan 2010 and uploaded it on another webcomic hosting site May 2010. It found its way on tapastic on July 2015 and is here to stay. ^u^

When I was in school me and my best friend would make up a fictional universe in which our main characters were our avatars (we're talking ultra Mary Sues here ). We would make up stories like mini arcs and either just draw key scenes and talk about the adventure or draw entire chapters . I guess this is where it started. But I started doing comics seriously about 10 years ago, and it's been my passion ever since I laid eyes upon my first Dragon Ball volume.

Even if I've loved comics for a loooong time, I actually got into making them only two years ago.

Well, there was a very sad attempt during my 1st year in high school (so... 7 years ago?) for a improvisation comic with a bunch of strangers over the internet but that meant drawing 1 page every... 2 months? And even then the whole thing died in less than a year. xD

Later in high school I had less sad but infinitely more horrid try at a comic of my own, epic fantasy with dimension hopping and elemental magic. But that too died before getting to draw more than a handful of pages. I was working more on the script and characters than on the actual pages but more I worked on it, the more I realized just how awful the story and setting were. I'm really happy tho that I worked on it because I was able to spew out lots of... bad writing to say it nicely. It definitely thought me a lot about story structure, plot and character development and how to avoid/spin tropes and cliches. After that I didn't touch comics for couple of years until I started working on my current one.

I knew about webcomic in 2000 but that time most webcomic arent popular and mostly on personal webpage. i work on my webcomic in 2004. i host at keenspace/comicgenesis. they're still up but discontinue and i dont feel like to continue them.

I've been wanting to draw comics since I was 15 but only just started making some fan-comics 2 years ago, I still have a long way to go but making my webcomic has been a great way to learn new things.

I have always loves stories and telling stories, but I didn't get into comics until I met my husband. He has been doing comics for years (He used to make mini-comics and sell them to kids in elementary school) I started to get interested in them about 15 years ago. Then about 10 years ago I started thinking about writing some.

I started writing my comics when I was grade 2,I guess I was roughly 7 or 8 years old when I made my very first comic. I do not know where it is now though but its about 3 girls who was given 3 eggs in their dream and inside those eggs were little fairies hehe (I was inspired by Chocola and Vanilla hehe) Ahhh those days,when I didnt care whether the bodies were proportionate or if the bubble dialogues overlap each other * ' v' *

I actually started in college. One day a friend left class to go to the bathroom. I grabbed his notebook and drew a giant wiener on it. Everyone thought it was hilarious (including the teacher who came over to see what we were all laughing at). From that day on me and a few other people started drawings pictures of sausages (Superbad style) during classes instead of focusing and actually getting edumacated.

The drawings really started to improve in quality and for a while people have been telling me I should start publishing things online. So after about 5 years I finally decided to get Manga Studio and start playing around and from there I built my site and haven't looked back since.

I drew some illustrated stories or comics pages when I was a kid, but nothing very serious, I never finished anything, just a fiew pages and I'd get bored of it.
So the first real comics that I had to finish for real and be serious about was a year ago, a 18 pages one shot for a fanzine.
But I was already drawing professionally by then.

I started drawing, what I guess would be called gag-a-day, strips at age 15.

Started scripting and drawing one-off comics in college. Didn't try to publish them. They were mostly parodies of other peoples' IP anyway.

Made an attempt to publish original material online almost 8 years ago, but didn't have the web-mastering skills I felt I needed to make it look good.

Inkblazers and now Tapastic were my first real publishing attempts for others to see. Sadly, I'm just now getting my skills back. I've taken multi-year breaks from sketching before, but this recent 5 year break just killed me. I must be getting old. LOL

Yesterday I was going trough my DA account and realised that my current comic wasn't my first.... I don't remember how old was I but I think I was in high school. Back then I was a hard core Beyblade fan so I made like 5 characters who were related to BB characters and the comic was about one of them and Kai 🙃

Funny thing is, I put more effort on my first one shot story 😢 I never finished it, and I can't remember how it was supposed to end...
Also, my art style is completely different so to finish it, I would have to do it all over again....

I just stared in February the day that courage possessed my passion. and yeah im happy that i started in tapastic since my friend recommended me to try here. and im glad that the community are so nice and friendly.
