Oh, Hunger Games! I remember really liking the first book but the second and third is just disappointing? And i don't really like the movies. The actress playing her just make me feel odd watching the movie because she somehow looks out of place(?). No idea how to phrase it. :stuck_out_tongue:

And I do remember that a new hunger game new book will come out next year, if I don't get it wrong, so we'll see what I'll be about.

Pretty much every popular hyped franchise out there. Like I sometimes I feel like some series live up to the hype but like 80% i've tried getting into were just trash and not even worth being called good, just mediocre.

Never knew she was a woman =o
learn something new every day =)

I'm pretty disappointed with how Steven Universe ended. I loved the show but the ending almost stained the whole series for me. It just seemed like everything was resolved a bit too easily and the horrible things done weren't really addressed, nor punished.

I also want to like Harry Potter more than I do. I enjoy it but I didn't read past book 5 and it was hard for me to get through that. I'm not sure if it's the story itself or the fact that the franchise got too big, but I couldn't get HP to really stick with me and I grew up with it

Oh, and cardio. I know you're good for me but I hate you so very much :cry_01:

Oh man, I'm preparing myself for a whole lot of hate by admitting this...
Star wars. I can not for the life of me finish any star wars movie and I have tried them all. IDK what is wrong with me, but I just get bored. Doesn't matter if it's an old classic star wars movie or a new one, they just can't seem to hold my attention.

I'm a massive Star Wars fan and had never read the Plagueis book. I wouldn't say I disliked it, I actually did enjoy it and would say I like it, but I didn't like it nearly as much as I thought I would. I'll never read it again, and was disappointed with at least a third of the book.

In the past this would happen a lot with movies. I think it looks right up my alley and I end up not liking it. Same with comics. It's pretty rare these days as I've grown to know my specific taste very well.

My friends keep recommending me Gintama as "extremely hilarious! You should read it!". I read the manga, but I have yet to locate where the extreme hilarity part. Don't get me wrong, i got most the jokes, it's funny and exciting series to read, but didn't make me rolling on the floor...

RWBY

God, I miss monty oum--his fight scenes were unparalleled. Like:

Just look at this section of the fight scene--as flashy as the other parts are, the fact that he even implemented those feints in the heat of this battle goes to show his skill in choreography. RIP in peace, monty.

I don't necessarily think there's a problem with the actress they chose (although I don't think Jennifer Laurence has much range. At all.) I think the problem was that she was supposed to be from a really poor district where everyone was starving and, well... Jennifer Laurence is kind of curvy and looks perfectly healthy. They could have easily thrown some makeup on her to make her look underfed, but they didn't even do that. She also has a kind of wide, innocent face and doesn't look much like a chick who goes hunting daily. It's like when they randomly cast Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor in that Terminator Genisys movie. XD She just doesn't have the look of Sarah Connor, and had nothing on Linda Hamilton in general in my opinion, haha.

A New Hunger Games book? Wow, I didn't know that. I'm excited for the fans of the series~!

Yes! Linda Hamilton was amazing in those movies. Especially T2. She's really the ideal heroine if you truly want to write a kick-ass as a female lead and have it not come out as cardboard or unbelievable. Write a Sarah Connor!

Sports and cars. Apparently, it's something that a guy is obligated to be a fan of if he wants to call himself a man, yet even cybersports (especially the cybersports) bore the bejeezus out of me, and the only car I ever cared about is the DeLorean, and even that's only on the aesthetic level of "I really like how it looks".

Exactly! Monty Oum was a god at action fight scenes. I miss him :frowning:

The only person I think came close to replicating Monty's style of animating fight scenes was Kim Newman (i think was her name?) who was promoted in V6, and so a lot of the fight scenes there were better than the ones in V4 and V5, but I hear she was moved to gen:LOCK.

A couple hyped animated shows I never got past the first two episodes on were

Avatar The Last Airbender (I should like it, but the animation just did nothing for me. I gave it two episodes and never went back)

Rick & Morty (I didn't even finish the first episode. Having a mean drunk co-lead character killed it almost instantly)

The third episode of Avatar is where it really starts to get good. The writing in the first two season is better than almost any anime I've seen.

I loved Avatar the Last Airbender, Uncle Iroh still makes me cry, but I hated the Legend of Korra, the first season was alright, and everything after that just didn't make sense and I really disliked it. That said, the art was as good as ever.

There was an older anime I really enjoyed called X/1999 (the manga is still ongoing/on hiatus/abandoned). It was a 26 (I think) episode series and I enjoyed everything single minute of it...

UNTIL THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF THE LAST DAMN EPISODE.

The ending left such a sour and gross taste in my mouth that the entire show turned into complete TRASH for me. I hate that show SOOO much because the ending sucked.

Not really fandom related, but when I tell people I draw, they expect me to be into or understand the stereotypical weird modern art with super complex and deep meanings when I'm really indifferent to it.
Same thing with rap and hip hop. Don't like it or hate it. I just say I do so people don't think I'm crazy.

FLCL is a show that many people around have praised for being such a short and concise show about puberty, I guess? But it's explained as if it's a masterpiece by Studio Gainax.

Episode 1 was so overwhelming and incoherent for me, I couldn't understand how anybody could even watch it, let alone praise it. The wild nature of the show is supposed to be a positive, but I'll tell you what, it positively turned me off to watching the rest of it. I wanna give it a fairer shot in the future but damn, what nasty first impression it left on me.
