Where are the ads?

In an answer to a previous question I had on here, someone told me that when I go back and reread a chapter I’ve already unlocked in a series, the creators are given money from the ad revenue, but what I want to know is, where are these so-called ads? The only thing I’ve seen on the app that would count as ads are the videos I watch to earn more free ink, but where are the other ads? Is there a setting to turn the ads on or off? Someone please explain it to me, because I’m very confused.

On both mobile and desktop they're usually a banner between the bottom of the comic page (or novel chapter) and the creator comments space.

If you don't want the ads, you could use an ad blocker. If you simply do not want your information to be collected, I'm pretty sure you can go to the settings somewhere and remove your consent for aduse by third parties. (At least, that is a thing by law in the EU, don't know if that goes for other parts of the world.)

I think there used to be ads in the app too but they seem to have disappeared.
