Where did you story came from?

I created my short comic when I was in a really bad fight with my family...I have some home issues ( ...I guess like every family...) that day there was power cut and I was really stressed, suddenly I grabbed a pen and a paper and started to draw...that's how I made my lovely comic, of course everything it's fine in my life now

My story plot, Gemmoner, is created by myself only. I always think of it almost everyday and figure out about what could make it better. I build characters, think of the plot, mind mapping my story and do dialogue all by myself. My story is inspired from one anime " Fate/Stay Night" about manservant.

My story was inspired by a random joke i said while talking to a friend. Like if you accidentally found out you were immortal and you went to a doctor: and they were like 'It seems like you might have a slight chance of immortality...' and the patient would Freak OUT. XD, and yea i built on that - and thats where i found both my title and plot! "A slight chance of Immortality"!

Well, see, I don't do drugs(Don't do drugs kid) . But I had recently finished Breaking Bad. And so I was pretty high. Some Republicans on YouTube were bashing immigrants, calling them illegal aliens. So I thought, hey, fuck it, Im gonna draw about a scenario where a literal illegal alien crashes on earth and comes face to face with our diverse and( In 99% cases) really loathsome cultures. Welp, and here I am.

Cryptids and the supernatural. Ever since I was young, I've always thought to myself: what if I could make a story based on cryptids that lived in their own world? Fighting evil, connecting with the characters, and having adventures? Thus, Cryptic Yume was born. I've always believed that if humans can have stories, emotion, and adventures, why can't cryptids?

Idk. I just rolled with it to be honest. Having the idea of someone's POV towards the MC of the story. I wanted to reveal at the end that the POV that you're reading from is the FBI agent the MC was assigned to. But that's stupid considering this person's POV I'm writing doesn't exactly know much about the MC and can only observe the MC inside MC's apartment since I restricted it to one place for the setting of the story.

My story came from me being salty about the medical industry. The plot ideas just came to me over time on their own. Characters were inspired from roleplays I did. After making up a lot of stuff on the spot you start to keep one or two things and start meshing your own ideas with it.

My comic actually started with an Invader Zim Oc with a Yinyang motif that I decided to make human, then I wondered what sort of powers I could create based on positiveness and negativity. from there I wondered what sort of world setting would make sense for this character and what sort of struggles she could go through with her powers.

many of the characters are based on different aspects of my life or have quirks from real people that I know too.

And thats how the Modern Fantasy/ slice of life/ mystery that is TLC was born!

My boyfriend and I were goofing around on a game. I had a dark elf, he decided to go mage. At some point, he decided he was bitten by a vampire when he was on the game by himself, having run into a vamp guild. They had rp'd they bit him for food, and thus I had to come to his rescue. Over the years, we joked about it, had fun with it. Then while in Second Life, after having spent years learning how to build, it dawned on me. Especially when I was going over some of our pictures and found one of my favorites. I really needed to tell their story. Not how we played it, but how I had come to know them, and the tools I have at hand. When I began in SL, there wasn't much in the nice look for her to be purple, hence her pale appearance. Times have thankfully changed.

I wanted a project for a contest, so I wrote down like ten ideas I'd been kicking around, went to Taco Time with my fiance at 1 AM, and talked about which I liked best and how they could be combined. (Left to Rot is mostly a combination of 2)
I talk like all of it through with her still, but I've always talked about my stories with somebody! I have very patient, tired friends. Reid is super inspired by Akino Matsuri's mediums and Jewish folklore (that's why they're Japanese/Ashkenazi). Allie is inspired by a lot of my personal frustrations with disability and media.

I’m still only writing my story but my story inspiration comes from mostly anime and then my own tastes. When I was a small kid I actually used to write a ton. I dunno why or why I started but my stories were always very people focused. I liked simple things with simple concepts and the mood of the scene was to me the most important, rather than the grand plot. When I was 13-14 I discovered anime for the first time and especially magical girl anime. It was so new and exciting I loved it and got very addicted, I kinda dropped writing after that and became an artist exclusively. Soon though, I wanted to make my own magical girl manga and I did draw one, for like a year, it was pretty garbage obviously but I noticed later on that while it was bad in both art and writing, it had some unique, personal elements that I really liked. I figured that if I oneday made a comic again I would probably rewrite that story and that’s what I’m doing now. I ’d say my way of storytelling is perhaps somewhat chibli like, not that as a creator I’m anywhere near that great but perhaps the feeling of my old stories always seemed to have a similar vibe to them, which is probably why movies like spirited away, laputa and howls moving castle became my all time favorites, especially the first one. Overall I want to create a fantasy ”shoujo” manga but in my own vision, it’s meant to be sort of high fantasy asian blend with some nordic influence. Those are I guess all the seeds for my story. Anime, chibli and my own vision.

At Christmas 2017, I was having one of the worst Vesicula crises of my life and I was sad because they had made wonderful food, but the doctor ordered me to have only soup. So I just took an old notebook that I had and started writing in order that it would relieve my pain ... A few months later I found that notebook and decided to reread ... Today is one of the comics that I am finishing here at tapas

My current comic started with a joke character that became an rp character that eventually just snowballed into an entire plot. I got attached to him, cleaned up the joke design a bit and began to write around it seriously. I was watching a lot of hannibal and gotham at the time of the character's initial conception and that shows i think.

For me I work out a lot of my own problems through my characters. So with Clyde he deals with being different, often even repulsive to other people and as a child he takes it in stride but as he grows up it begins to get to him. he has to grapple with his identity and how others perceive him for things beyond his control and how much he cares. I use that as a way to vent my own trauma and deliberately grow emotionally alongside my boy.

My current comic 'Cosmos Song' was actually spun out of another comic series I was working on. I was finding more and more that I didn't want to work on the previous story I'd created anymore, but that I liked several of the cast members enough to make a brand new comic set in the same universe, but from different characters' perspectives. I really enjoyed the character development and chemistry of Ronig and Roxy in that comic, a lot more than all of the characters in that universe you can say xD!

I'm actually really happy that I decided to work on my current comic since it's a lot more fleshed out than the last story. This story has a set direction while the other one was kind of just a weekend hobby type of project for me.
