Where do you go to buy art from artists?

I hope this thread is allowed...as long as people don't start dropping their storefront links en masse I think it should be good.

Anyway, the other day I had an epiphany and realized I could be buying all these pins and T-shirts and buttons I see my fellow artists advertising all the time...so I was wondering what sites you usually frequent to do that.

Redbubble's UI is honestly a nightmare...and besides that, the only other one I know off the top of my head is Etsy (I don't see it mentioned very often, though, and in my experience that's a bad sign). Ideally, I'd like to have at least 2-3 sites I can go through to shop for birthday presents and whatnot.

Etsy and Storenvy are the biggest sites for people's custom shops as far as I know. Gumroad is also a great site to use, though it's known more for digital products (but I do offer physical stuff through there too!). Those three you'll find things that aren't produced through print on demand sites (Redbubble, Society 6, Zazzle, etc.), like enamel pins, buttons, charms, one of a kind/handmade items and so forth.

Some bigger artists host their own store site or have prints available through curated sites like InPrint.

Personally, I use Etsy, Storenvy, and on occasion people's personal sites, to do most of my non-mass-market shopping.

100% Etsy! Just check the seller's reviews first. I sell on Etsy (nothing to do with my comic) if you need any info about it. I've been selling and buying on there since it launched.

Etsy is fabulous--many artists do their own website, but it'll be attached to their Etsy, if that makes sense--so I'd check their twitter or their instagram and see what shops they list.

I've only bought from Storenvy which was a good experience, though I sell mine from Teepublic - I can't afford shipping and packaging merch myself. Etsy is also the most popular but I hear SO many stories about it screwing over creators that I can't consider using it.

I have my own website and a RedBubble. I find Etsy to expensive to use.

I've bought prints from inprnt which is commercial quality and various things directly from artists on etsy. If etsy is the only place that artist sells you have to keep in mind you're supporting the artist, it's not so much about the site, it's just ebay for crafters.
I've had nothing but good experiences with both.

I had set up links on my own site and used https://www.ecwid.com/ to manage payments. I find it works rather well. At conventions I use Square.

Another in the own site category. digital stuff, or more specifically commissions, are pretty much sold via the usual social platforms or ko-fi. with ko-fi making the shop function available to everyone i can see folks already on there adding stuff or moving it over (possibly??)
