Feel free to specify things in the comments! I think most of my inspiration when it comes to art style is from the anime Lupin iii and it's manga. But I've also taken cues from a few Cal-arts shows (I know it's unpopular but I don't mind it) and shows I watched in the early 2000s.

I'm mainly inspired from the art work of one, Antonio Prohías, the original creator of Spy vs Spy. But over the years, other artist have caught my eye.

I really enjoy some of the art that Tsukasa Hojo puts out. It's a perfect blend of realism with anime.

For art: mainly contemporary illustrator Tomer Hanuka and contemporary mangaka Est Em and Natsume Ono

For storytelling: movies. lots and lots of movies. mostly made in the West, but from various decades.

For writing style: various books.

I answered "Other" because my inspiration comes from a variety of sources and I haven't been able to analyze it enough to identify a specific source for "most" - but what I did realize is that "Literature" and "Webcomics" seem to be some sources that I feel should have had spots on this poll. For me, specifically, a good amount of my comics have inspiration from those sources.

EDIT: I just realized we can choose up to 8 options, in which case, I could probably select all of them, though I feel that negates the purpose of the use of "most."

"Other" for me in regards to comics is definitely other webcomics or Western indie comics. I grew up with Marvel and DC, but these days I purchase more indie comics than I do comics from either of the two major comic publishers (along with manga). Films and epic fantasy novels are also big sources of inspiration.

Oh, and music! I love building playlists of songs that remind me of characters or scenes or just my stories in general. Plugging into that playlist is great for staying focused and inspired while drawing.

Delay on my other answer, but for me right up there with anime that I like, Video games are a large portion of my inspiration

For example, the #1 main inspiration for TreasureHUNT!! was a game called Has-Been Heroes which has combat that focuses a lot around combining types of magic to produce alternate effects (Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has a similar feature and was a lesser inspiration that I also played right before writing TH!!).

As a result the initial idea was basically this page (Fire + Water = Steam):

and thinking about how I could write a story that could lead to a fight that used that haha.

There are elements of "game-y-ness" in a lot of my work though. For example, this coffee anthology comic that I made last year has some big MegaMan influence going on, in both appearance and abilities, & etc.

Books, music, and irl happenings. Visual inspo is a wild mush of Stuff I've soaked in over thirty years but nothing solid enough to list on its own except maybe "Bone: Out from Boneville" as the longest lived source of my love for adventurous fantasy as my genre.

I pretty much find inspiration out of just about everything above. XD
But one biggie that wasn't on the list, actually isn't a drawn artform(I picked 'other' for it) I get more inspiration from music than I do visual mediums. Probably a 60\40 split I'd wager.

But recently...20th century and 21st century cartoons have been playing a bigger part in how I approach art and drawing my comic.

1930's American animation, and dead animals. I keep a collection of skins, skulls, wet specimens, and taxidermy specifically for art references and inspiration. (I don't kill any of them myself, and I actually started veganism the same year I started taxidermy lol.)

I've been told by multiple people that my style looks like modern anime hybridized with old Fleischer Bros. cartoons. Of course, with a twist of morbid horror sprinkled in for good measure. But when you look at Shilo's design especially, I can see it.

But yeah no, I love watching those old black and white cartoons from the 1920's-1930's, they terrify me.
