Which characters do you tend to model after yourself?

Antagonists. Me super-annoying in real life. Me super-annoying online too, but also in real life.

Antagonists... specifically one of them (Erick Blackhart) . I just take my tendencies from when I play open world RPGs (like Fallout 3 for example). Usually the first character I make is a huge jerk and extremely violent, and all the while I laugh every time I make them do something horrible to the NPC's XD

Am I literally the only person who bases more background characters than protagonists of themselves?
Personally I find I tend to base my protagonists less off of what I see in myself and more what I want to see in myself.

...maybe I just have a lot of memorable background characters...

Maybe, but I keep finding by background characters steal the show cause of their loud, friendly personalities.
I'm a naturally very loud, friendly person.

Pretty sure every single character I write has a part of me influencing them, but I think I'm most similar to background characters haha

I don't usually include myself, but if I ever do it's usually just background character Easter eggs like many Hollywood creators do lol. Nobody would ever know if I make an appearance in my own comic because they wouldn't know what alien species I'd be if I were in the setting of the comic Haha.

Anyway, I think a lot of people assume Genesis, the main character, is supposed to be me. My boyfriend even jokes that she is me reincarnated. I always ask people why, and apparently it's literally just the hair. Anyone who's ever met me in person knows I have extremely long and fluffy blonde hair, the kind that is so thick and frizzy it looks like a plume of yellow fluff on my head. Genesis is also blonde so I guess that makes her me?? That is literally the only thing in common between us. I'm not sure why people think she's a write-in

I don't really model characters after myself. They might have a few things in common with me, but I always thought a character modeled after me would be boring. xD

None, they are nothing like myself. If anything I like adding some "childish" and playful features. That's the only similarity.

My characters tend to reflect different emotions. Some of them I use to vent through or just to get out certain feelings I have. This does allow them to grow as characters because eventually they end up just serming to write themselves.

I can be an angsty, angry little beast. There is a lot of opinionated bottle up in this not-so-tiny body of mine. I would most probably drive the reader insane if I were to model the protagonists, who anyways get all the airtime, after me. This is assuming people read my work of course.

Some authors can pull a Raskolnikov character off amazingly (like, uh, Dostoevsky, the guy who invented Raskolnikov) as a protagonist. I couldn't. Antagonist it is, baby.

Generally both antagonists and protagonists to a certain degree. For instance, if I'm going for an antagonist, I take the aspects of myself that I think could be villainous and use that and vice versa for a protagonist. Guess my somewhat contradictory personality can help sometimes.
