Comments. Engagement is most of the battle. And, most people that comment also 'like', as it takes 100x the effort.

I appreciate every like, but comments make my day, and I try to encourage conversation between me and my readers. It makes them more invested (observed through years of online posting) and I just love it when people take the time to write out a comment and put the effort into giving me feedback.
Side benefit: if they tell me what they like (or don't) it helps me improve.

I adore talking to the readers. Even if the comment is " I don't get it" or something passive-aggressive jajajaja.

Both ideally but comments always feel better! It takes more effort to write a comment then it does to just hit the like button. Plus you really just to see how much that person enjoys your works (or maybe not enjoy so much).

Comments. Even if I often don't have a response for them, I apreciate every comment since I get the feeling, someone cared so much about my work, they decided to comment on it. Not saying likes aren't nice, but like won't tell me if there's something I need to fix about my comics.

Comments, no contest. It's nice to see readers take a moment to write something even if it's just one word or screaming. But I especially like it when they point out something specific they liked or share a theory about the comic. Likes are great, but comments feel more special.

I prefer comments. Anyone can leave a 'complimentary' like, just to be nice (I've done that many times), but a comment means that the reader is engaged with your story and characters. I like how here on Tapas we can keep track you likes and comments, whereas on Webtoons, who ever clicks 'like' is a mystery. ow I just wish Tapastic would keep track who shares on social media. Tapas keeps track of the number of shares each of my comic gets, but not who is doing the sharing.

I always prefer comments. They're pretty much the reason I even create in the first place. Likes can be given for any reason and even unfortunately on some websites, people create bots to generate likes in order to increase traffic to their page (Instagram and Deviantart for example). Comments require taking time out of the day to leave genuine feedback, I really want to know that people actually enjoy what I'm doing.
