Which kind of creator are you?

For the most part, I've been fighting doing stuff like taking commissions for art, but within the last year or so, I've started to warm up to it(a little). I think if this year goes particularly well for me, I might start taking commissions...every little bit helps- especially if it is to further fund my own projects.

I know- you're asking, "Is this dude crazy? I'd do commissions in a minute!"...I guess when it comes to others' independent characters, I have NO ISSUE drawing em out. I like the challenge of that...but I loathe drawing stuff like DC & Marvel characters all day. Then there's also the issue of a full plate; my mind stays creating stuff all the time, which keeps me busy all the time- especially when it comes to my Clique stuff, and now my Ray Thunder stuff as well.

I guess I'm a 3 or 4? I haven't released a commercial comic yet, but I've published books, videogames, and some albums. Comics are a new medium for telling my stories.

Unfortunately I'm a hobbyist. Perhaps some day I'll be able to improve enough to see through some of the projects I want to do in my life but right now it's about learning and to some extent escaping with a bit of fun.

Hmm, I guess I'm Semi-Pro going Professional. I'm paid for my comic work but our little group is independent. We are not the status for a publishing house to pick us up yet.

I'm pretty much number 2.
I'd like it if my comic became something bigger but I mostly do it because I love to make comics, create fantasy worlds and create creatures/characters/lore to fill that world with.

By your categories I'd be 4, because art is all I do and I did print for a while and worked for different groups on manga and other such stuff, now get payed through my Patreon page. The thing is I don't consider myself very professional anymore since my mental breakdown and being disabled made me quit a lot of the jobs I used to do because of my health... No more conventions, printing or any of the other things that are overly stressful... After a long break I returned to webcomics, but my hands still shake and I don't seem myself getting to a "professional" level, but my supporters think highly enough to continue following me through all these ups and downs so that is something.

If I had to say, I think I'd be 2. I'm a professional artist, but my comic is just for fun...though I'd go pro if I could earn a living.:D

I'm definitely a number 1. I'm under age, for one thing, but I'm also not a terrific artist yet. I'm hoping that while working on my web comic my skills will grow, but I still don't see it as anything more than a hobby in the future. I'd enjoy doing this professionally, but I have the feeling my career will be that of a more literary nature, as much as I love my drawing.

Uhh.... hmmm this is a tough one. I think I'd jump somewhere between 3 and 4? I think it is tough because I don't wish to be hired by anyone. I'm quite an independent kind of creator, and formulating the story to me is as important (if not more) than the just the art.

Aetherwar is what I hope will be but the first of many. And as time goes on I hope to get some serious formal training in art.
