Which looks better: color or none?

So, I asked this question not too long ago, but this time have images for comparison. I’m torn on whether or not to color my comic. On the one hand, I’m basic and I think it looks lame. On the other, the uncolored looks...maybe undone? Please help!

I think I prefer the uncolored look here, only because it looks more polished than the colored example. If you do decide to color your comic, try to clean up your lines and fill in the white gaps after using the fill bucket tool.

You're right that the uncoloured one looks unfinished, but the coloured one has some issues where the colour hasn't gone fully to the edges of the lineart, creating those fuzzy lighter outlines. What program are you using? We might be able to give you some tips or tutorials to fix your colouring pipeline.

I think you should leave it uncolored. The colored version looks like you're using the paint bucket tool, and it has little white dots. If the program you're using has expand, use that to fill the lines. If not, just leave it uncolored or color it without the bucket.

I’m currently using Adobe Fresco/a(?). I’d love to know about other apps/programs that may work better! I’m working with a surface pro.

A lot of comic people use one out of:

Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Pro (or EX), Paint Tool Sai.
If you have 0 budget, options are Krita or GIMP.

I like the uncoloured better but if you're gonna make a comic in black and white be sure to use a lot of black for contrasts because otherwise it gets hard to read

Procreate works really well! I used that back when I was making comics n' stuff for my friends. It's a one time payment 10 bucks and it is a professional grade software. If you have an ipad, that'd be a really great option.

Colored would look cool, And I know a trick to make the lineart look clean, while also using the bucket tool.
Just duplicate the lineart layer, keep the unedited one on top (Hide it for a moment), and proceed to color the below copy. You can also color over the lines with the pen tool if the black colors show the white artifacts. Once done the coloring, use blending option on the unedited lineart, in that way, the white will go away, and the line will be shown cleaned enough with no artifacts.
I talk more about my experience as a Photoshop editor and for how I usually colored my character Refs to pass to the artist I work with.

I do prefer the uncolored version you have drown out and I do agree with the comments that people have said about the colored version, but since this is about on whether or not you should color or not in a comic.
I think it would be "would you want to color in your comic?" Or "would you want to go thru that process? "
I've seen the process, the looks, and I myself have gone thru the coloring of a character, it does take time and it is a pain, (well for me it is a pain I don't know about anybody about that ),

but then again I've also seen artist use the bucket tool and it quickly fills in the drawing and they put it out.
Maybe it is the program you are using that makes the color version look weird, I had used this site called Kleki and using the bucket tool it looks like the drawing you have presented.

Whelp everybody is different on this as well so how you color and such could be easy or hard.

The drawing does look good, the uncolored drawing to me looks more "lively" than the colored one but that is just me.

I appreciate all of the feedback! I think the consensus seems to be color needs work if I’m going that route, but uncolored is fine too. I think I’m going to stick with uncolored for the time being. Color takes me extra work since I have issues with colors (my eyes sort of...blend them all), so I’d probably do best with having someone else help on that if I choose color anyhow. I’d hate to have my character look ‘normal’ in my eyes, only for others to question why her skin is green 🤣 Thank you all for your feedback! ️

I think the uncolored version looks slightly cleaner in terms of detail. Don't get me wrong you can always make the colored more polished, but if you're just starting out, perhaps go for the uncolored version until you're confident in your coloring abilities for future chapters.

I prefer the uncolored version because it looks polished whereas the colored one is a bit messy and just flat. If you clean it up and add some shadows and highlights it would look a lot better. But that of course takes more time.

Dude, do it B&W for now till you get experience colouring.
You'll need to sort out the antialising artifacts before you start thinking about colour.

The outline quality looks good, the coloring doesn´t look good.
Bring your coloring quality to the same like your linework and then go for
the colored version.
I don´t want to be rude but at the moment it looks like someone who doesn´t
know how to color destroyed the linework
