My question is essentially this: "how long do you believe it would take before someone undergoing white torture will begin to have audible hallucinations, visual, and even possibly feeling them?"

Another is, "what would you see? would it be an animal, loved one, something random, are they usually things that want to hurt you? (obviously it wouldn't actually be there but still) Would it be a positive thing, etc?

It's when you are placed in an all white-sound proofed room, wearing all white, no windows, and with little to no contact with the outside world. When a prisoner eats it is usually white unseasoned rice, or any food that is all white and doesn't need seasoning, but usually it is the same thing everyday

Vsauce made a video about that sort of things. It takes around 2 days to lose sense of time, and I think it was 4 days for brain damage? Not sure. He didn't have hallucinations, but he talked to the camera and to himself a lot. Did push-ups (really unlike him to do that).
Apparently the worst thing with that is boredom.

I'll look into for sure. Is it Michael himself going through it or him talking about people going through it

Sure thing! But uhhh, don't wear headphones. He gives examples of what could happen, and it'll hurt your ears if the volume is loud.

It's Michael himself, he goes in a white chamber for 72h in his Mindfield series. That particular episode is free to watch

I mean, kinda. but minus that tv, balcony door/window, plants, size (way too big of a room), that hallway as it is only one room, get rid of that black bird, make that floor completely white, have a white ceiling light turned on at all times, get rid of all the furniture except for the couch, and we're good to go.

Here's a few links to some articles on the subject!

And a direct link to the Mind Field episode y'all were talking about, for anyone who wants to see it~

A key part that we should take from the episode that kinda affects how he went through the White Room is that he escalated a few experiments leading up to it as well as doing loads of research on it, building up his mental fortitude.. and the biggest difference being that since it was an experiment, at least Michael has the hope of ending the experience at some point, right?

White Torture is just that, torture. There's no build up to it since prisoners have to face it directly and with almost no warning either since with the cases I've read, these prisoners were kidnapped and shoved into solitary confinement for a lengthy amount of time, weeks and even months at a time. Not only that, but the guards are completely aware of their condition, and they'll like make stuff up about the world or just about anything else at their most vulnerable, and just.. yeah, it sounds real bad lol but for a story it might just turn out super interesting!

Side note..The episode reminds me of the Panopticon since Michael was completely under watch while being in a cell basically. (For anyone that doesn't know what a Panopticon is, it's a circular prison with cells around a watchtower in the center, and there's a single guard that watches the inmates, but they can't see the guard. The prison's design has a slew of controversies surrounding it, so it never became a functioning facility.) I imagine combining this prison with White Torture would be a cool thing to read in like a psychological drama comic or novel~

That's not what the same thing as what 'white torture' is commonly referred to as. If it's something you made up, you can base it in reality, but it would not have any research or reference.

In terms of similar torture, you would probably just need to look at prisoners who have been in US solitary confinement . . . and the psych studies in there. Your definition of white torture is more similar to that than the more common versions used elsewhere to torture political prisioners

Completely not serious comment that didn't need to but needed to be added.

Due to my lack of backgrounds my characters may be immune to it as it is probably 75% of their lives.

White room torture sounds neat. Wonder if I could find one to have people leave me alone for a few days.

Edit: I was an ass and didn't answer the question.

I'd say that's rather hard to judge. People have varying levels of mental fortitude, trauma, and the like. For literature purposes, you could create your own histories to facilitate how long or short you would prefer the torture to take hold.
