For Apparent Secrets, Iris's best (human) friends are Curtis and Ramona. They all went to university together a few years ago, and shared a few general education classes together. Ramona and Iris were drawn together from a shared creative energy. Curtis and Iris worked at the same coffee shop on campus between classes, and she taught him how to make coffee. Curtis and Ramona are like fire and water, but they get along with each other despite differences in personality.

AM I the only one who will forever think of "Ramona and Beazus" whenever I hear the name Ramona?

Several people have said their sets of besties are like polar opposites in ways, but I really don't know if I have any sets of friends like that.

Mad and Hallie (from "Hushabye Prince" making their debut in the mini coming out this Friday) are polar opposites in terms of looks, at least as far as height is concerned (5'0 and 6'0 respectively)

But they basically have the same personality, which is why they're so chaotic to live with as the third roommate. (poor Kimberly)

I feel that. "Opposites attract" as much as possibility as "birds of a feather flock together." That's a heck of a height difference on the 5' v 6'.

it really is a huge height gap, which is probably why their go to terms of endearment are all things "Red wood" "behemoth" and "imp" respectively

Mrs. Moon's best friends are named Jun and Daphne. She connected with them because they are fellow business women like herself, hard working and self motivated. Though Mrs. Moon isn't the type to only make connections with people who are useful to her, she generally doesn't interact with anyone who doesn't share her passion for progress, which I suppose makes sense. Most people only make friends with people who share their ideologies, so all of Mrs. Moon's friends are business women specifically, all of which are CEOs, in high management positions, or own their own companies.

Kattar has a few other friends that are mentioned briefly and might get a little more info later. Utkarsh is one of them, and the son of Mrs. Moon's friend Daphne.

It's not surprising they would become friends, because their mothers are friends. Kattar and Utkarsh are the sort of friends who could go forever without talking to each other but are still more than willing to get up in the middle of the night to pick you up from the airport if you need them to.

Utkarsh is also just really genuine. He accepts people as they are and is incredibly patient. He doesn't treat Kattar any differently now than he did before because he's now paralyzed, and that means a lot to Kattar, especially because he knows his current irritability would dissuade a lot of people from wanting to talk to him anymore.

Tatara and Yuki's friends are all from their small queer circle in their community. There's Honey Bea, a sweet and gentle drag queen who loves old Japanese musical movies from the 50's and 60's. There's Champagne Rose, a drag queen who's much younger than everyone else and fierce, but doesn't know how to respect her elders and has a mouth on her. There's Darla, a drag queen who's in her late 60's and has been around the block and is wise, who everyone calls "mother". There's Io, a young bartender from the bar Tatara owns who's in college and kind. There's Miyuki, a dress maker from a Tokyo suburb who makes everyone's drag outfits. It's no secret that they all rely on Tatara's business to survive, but they all really love each other and wouldn't leave even if they weren't being paid. Working together has made them all intensely close, and they've been working together for years. It's hard to find people who understand you, and this circle of friends all accept and love each other.

Bobbie and R.J. have been best friends since they met in kindergarten. They originally bonded over being the only kids in their class with hearing disabilities, but what really solidified their friendship is how well their personalities mesh together. Theyre a couple of goofballs, but R.J. is a little more serious/introverted to balance out Bobbie's outgoing self

lol, sort of like Kattar and Alicia. They originally bonded in Spanish class because they actually spoke Spanish and were kind of laughing at their teacher who definitely didn't, but eventually connected, not because they had a lot more in common, but because their ideals kind of fit each other and balanced each other out. They don't share many interests, but they are both sweet people who will do a lot to care for their friends, and patiently suffer through the things that don't interest them for each others sake.

XD, that's very true lol. It's an unusual coincidence. I even have deaf characters in my comic (that's now unfortunately indefinitely on hold) or rather, my FL grew up in a household where both her parents were deaf. And my ML lives with a disability in "Damsel in the Red Dress."
