Who are your OCs best friends? Why do they like them?

This one is cheating but Kattar and Alicia's best friends are each other. They've been friends since Jr. High School, when they met in Spanish class, but they have different favorite things about each other. If they were just to pick one thing it would probably be that they can be themselves with each other. They are both extremely patient with each other's hobbies and interests more than willing to spend huge amounts of their lives watching each other's favorite shows or listening to each other talk about things they couldn't care less about.

Individually, Kattar likes how affectionate Alicia is, and Alicia loves how reliable Kattar is.

Jinwoo's best friend is his little sister Jimin. His favorite thing about her is probably that she's always so sweet and nice to him.

For Psychoborg, Astra's best friend is Oya because despite their different personalities, social classes and everything, on the inside, they were two of a kind. They both lost their fathers as kids and were close with them, they both wanted to honour their legacies, and they both dreamt of marriage and kids.

For Frankenstein, it is Igor and Prometheus. They are like the two brothers neither of them had. Both of them are social outcasts because of the way they look (Igor because he's a hunchback and Prometheus because he's a monster). They started to bond over empathy and after a while, became friends because they balance. Igor is despite everything an extrovert who is confident bold and daring. Prometheus is shy, quiet and careful.

Hugo has a best friend named Ethan, that I’ll probably introduce in a couple of pages.
They’re friends cause Hugo usually mocks everyone by default, and Ethan doesn’t understand sarcasm, and because Ethan usually weirds out everyone else, and Hugo already has his standards at rock bottom. they’re friends cause everyone else would have already walked off.

Eigria: Lume has a couple of best friends!

Cenric and Atreus is very obvious (from third episode onward). They are cousins and they became bff since they were little despite 5 years age difference. Atreus is like big bro and Cenric is small bro (this also applies with their physical appearance!)

Then, we have the trio hero: Daniil (who was already dead since fiest episode), Erhard, and Nicola. While they were perceived as trio hero, actually it's more like Daniil-Erhard and Daniil-Nicola. These simply because Daniil is a happy go lucky extrovert picking that keep picking up introverts along his way. When he was passed away, Erhard and Nicola just being professional due to work.

Truth be told I haven't given much tought to the how and why of their friendship. When developing them, I decided they were friends (best friends even), and I've been writing their relationship and interactions with eachother from that starting point.

well, everyone writes differently. I think I usually have a pretty good gist on how most people's relationships started in my stories, be they friends, couples, or anything else, even when the story starts after that point

It's just one of those things that wasn't really plot relevant for me, but it's also not out of the question to explore that aspect of their past at some point in time. Maybe it could be a fun little short story down the liine, or maybe I'll bump into that question when writing some dialogue in a future chapter.

Baul and Isador have each other as friends. This really comes down to they are the same person, just spit apart at one time. To them, each other is the only ones they can trust as there is no ulterior motives to anything they do for each other. They will literally kill for one another (and have, MANY times before.).

Andrew's best friend is Jinho. It's rather odd that he would like Jinho when Jinho is such a grumpy person and Andrew is an affectionate puppy who has always been babied and doted on, but he's also the sort of person who would befriend anyone and find the good in anyone. He likes Jinho because Jinho is a defensive person who will work hard to care for the people he cares about and feels very strongly about his loved ones being mistreated.

On Jinho's part, he likes Andrew because Andrew is such a cheerful loving person that no matter how bad a day you're having he'll cheer you up, or at least try to...and sometimes it's just trying that makes a difference.

My main character, Poppy, is best friends with a girl named Maria. Their friendship is very unlikely, given the status gap between the two. Despite this, Maria enjoy's Poppy's optimism and child-like innocence, although nowadays Poppy can barely hang on. A mere husk of who the flower once was, Maria is deperate to rekindle the flame in Poppy. As time goes on, Poppy's flame grows ever dimmer...

There's a little more to it than that, as Maria also has somewhat of a bad reputation due to her father. On the other hand, due to her father's status, people tend to try and take advantage of Maria - something she is painfully aware of. Poppy doesn't care for any of that, though. Poppy just wants to be Maria's friend, and that genuineness is more than enough for Maria.

On the other hand, Poppy likes Maria because she's the only one who's there for her. Even as her brain slowly decays, as she struggles to remember things, sees things that aren't there, and lags behind in nearly everything, Maria is there for her through and through. She sits with her at lunch everyday, reminds her to eat and get sleep... Maria tries when Poppy can't.

Their bond runs deep because they're both there for each other (or try to be), and to them, that is more valuable than anything.

ChiLiang likes her because she's that kind of vibe that he love to tease, Fiammetta likes ChiLiang because of his way to see things.
They argue a lot but they deeply care for each other

Chiv, the main character of Legacy Of A Fighter (Pictured in the middle), has two besties! Leftmost in the picture is Eleanor, who shares an intense and emotional past with Chiv. (...More on that later on in the story )

And to the right is Lyn, who is Eleanor's girlfriend! Chiv met Lyn through Eleanor, and they pretty much instantly became great friends.

They all share an apartment together, where they generally all get along.

At first Chiv and Eleanor might seem like oil and water, but really they both help each other with their weaknesses. Chiv helps push Eleanor out of her comfort zone to be more adventurous and confident, while Eleanor is the voice of logic and reason that Chiv often needs to hear.

Meanwhile Lyn and Chiv get along like two peas in a pod, as they both have the same sense of humor, similar temperaments, and interests. ...However, at times Chiv's blatant disregard for discretion is enough to even astonish Lyn.

Soslow the sloth. They are in a gang and in prison together. Oxy has to wait years of her life and has nothing better to do than to listen to Soslow's stories, that take years to finish.
