Who else avoids feet?

I think I can draw feet okay, but I'm not really always drawing bare feet. I do like to draw shoes (and maybe I have a bit of a high heel fetish) so I've worked that into my composition. I do try and vary things up, and I've tried to do action composition with just feet/shoes. Worm's eye view camera angles or just showing the movement of feet to show action.

I always felt to become a decent comic illustrator you needed to be unafraid of drawing the human figure from any angle, and doing my comic was great practice for handling all of that kind of drawing.

why the hell are feet harder to draw then hands? It's just a solid lump of flesh with toes attached. Jesus i'm still trying and I suck, especially shoes.

If anyone seriously avoids a certain angle or composition based on not wanting to draw a particular body part, that's bad. Stop doing that.

I kind of hate feet with a passion, but somehow I ended up with a comic where every single character is wearing open-toed sandals and half the shots seem to show their feet... I don't know why I did this to myself but hey, at least I'm improving!

Do boots count? I really enjoy drawing legs from a low angle because it shows more of the environment. Then again, the current area in my story is snowy so it really lends itself. I'd be silly not to feature it as often as possible.

It's hard to begin with but you eventually get the knack of feet. I actually find the quicker I draw them the better. Hands were hard too but I forced myself to enjoy them. Now they're everywhere!

I don't avoid it. I want to draw feet better. They're a pain to figure out but very sexy to look at -- just like hands.

I don't really have many fullbody shots to begin with. And while I get a bit uncomfortable, due to my own inability to draw them, I just suck it up and retry until I get a decent result. A few years back I was struggling with hands in pretty much the same way. Not saying I am great at them now, but I certainly don't hide them behind backs/hair/stuff like I used to. So during that period, a person whose art I really admire told me "either don't draw hands or just make all your characters amputees - the result will be pretty much the same, since you refuse to challenge yourself to learn" ... and then I stopped avoiding hands, even if I didn't want to. And now I apply that logic to everything I draw, no matter how much I don't want to tackle that drawing subject. I mean, trying but failing is still more experience than not trying at all =DD

Lol I'm really surprised that I dont avoid drawing feet n I think its cuz I wanna draw my characters in different angles when they are fighting n talking in order to avoid using the same pose all the time.

Hmm, I don't think I try to avoid feet or legs, but I certainly avoid drawing bare feet lol. I find toes and the anatomy of a foot hard But like everything else, it all comes with practice.

I don't avoid them on purpose. if the camera angle cant see them thats...just how it is haha

Feet are a pain, I always seem to have a problem with tops of arms too, the elbowy bit and the forearm, it takes me a few attempts to get them vaguely decent

Feet are fine, it's just cos when you look at a character, you want to look at their face mostly. Hands are more of a nightmare than feet...

Feet are just like anything else, if you break them down into simple shapes they get easier to draw. Also the more you draw them the quicker they'll come to you.

I actually found that drawing bare feet a few times helped me get better at drawing feet in shoes?

I actually really enjoy drawing feet and I love drawing legs. I prefer drawing those rather than hands or arms.
There are things I hate drawing but I'm not going to avoid them just because I'm not good at it or hate drawing it.

Well, usually I draw them in poses where the feet wouldn't show in the panel... that's mostly it. It's not often I get to draw fullbody character shots, and usually they're shown from the head and down... not giving much room to draw the feet.

It's not just getting the feet themselves right, it's also the shape of the shoe... Bare feet (or even just in socks) are a whole other chapter, good thing my characters wear shoes.

I used to have a problem with hands and fingers. And thus I unconsciously hide them away in my drawings. The characters are either putting their hands behind their back or into their pockets. But then I challenged myself to draw more and more hands to the point nowadays I'm quite comfortable drawing them. I imagine it would be the same to feet... since yeah I do have problem with drawing bare feet. But since I have been doing a lot of fullbody art (for adoptables) it helps out a lot > v < /all the struggle when my designs usually don't include shoes LMFAO

My characters always wears shoes for travel since it's an adventure manga. But i think sooner if they take a bath scenes
