Who inks traditionally too?!

I just started inking chapter 2 of my webcomic. Hopefully I'm fast enough to clear this and work on chapter 3 soon~~!!! That being said, I was wondering who else inks traditionally like me too? If you do, are you using brush pen, traditional brushes etc? Just curious about other artist's weapon of choice hahaha. I also did a process video here.

Kind of!! I use ballpoint pen to ink my comic, which is... teeeechnically traditional? if a little unconventional. xD

I also ink traditionally and most of the time I use Pentel Pocket Brush Pens on vellum bristol. I like my lines to look hand drawn and have some texture to them, and I've found that combo does that really well.

I also use Unibal Signo white gel pens to do white lines on top of black fills and red microns to do patterning and little details if I want it to be easily separated from the main lines when I start coloring.

I used to do everything with nibs, but it was so messsssyyyy.

Also ink everything traditionally, rock on! I used ballpoint pen like @shazzbaa for There's No Such Thing as Jason -- I.T.'s first 10-15 pages but it's so difficult to find good ballpoint pens lately. I use Staedtler liners and brush pens now. Kuretake brush pens are my favourite recently!

@Kaykedrawsthings -- Must check out this brush pen on vellum look, I really dig those textures! So organic looking!

For Heroes for Ghosts I use a Windsor & Newton series 7 Brush for about 95% of my inking and a crow quill or pen for the rest.

I do! I like to work completely traditional, even colour. Except for screentones, manga screentones are very expensive and hard to get in Europe, so I do that in digital.

I use different tools depending on what I need, I use Tachikawa g-pen or maru-pen with Kuretake black ink, Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen and Pentel Brush Standard.

i like to ink with a small round brush. for filling larger areas of black i have a sable brush too

i always inked with ink, never with digital tool because the sign it's "flat & perfect" (i use a wacom) something that with the real ink dont exist... and the final score its far away from my taste. too bad because with the digital ink im 100 time faster. fu*k.

at the moment (from 5 years now) i use a Dip pen, but its too stiff and sharp. this mean that it make me crazy. when i was at school (long time ago) i tried a dip pen soft and it was AWESOME for me. i would search a new one but... whatever. lefu.
sometime i use also the ink brushes, but ive lost the wish to use it because im using a horrible ink.
oh yes, the ink... for the ink ive got a winsor black ink 951 but its too much thick... i hate it ffs. and it make me crazy twice as i have to use water to dilute.

I do both and use whichever looks best....sometimes it's digital, sometimes it's traditional...
I love both and have a hard time deciding which to use...I sometimes do an amalgam or composite of the two

I do! For Malleus Maleficarum, I ink traditionally but do the rest(toning etc) digitally. Traditional tools of trade - G pen, maru and saji pens : )

It's all traditional for me, but I like experimenting a lot with my tools.
But I mainly use the Kuretake brush pen and varies it with my Pilot Brush Pen which are both great for getting "alive" lines.

99% of my drawings are traditional and the 1% is basic editing in Photoshop. I use The Kuretake maru and G pen, Micronpens, and Copics when i color stuff.

brush own different size. the middle its quite good, i like it.
about the dip pens, the bigwhite it's the one i use 99% of the time. the small gray it's even harder then the bigwhite... on the left ive got a big dip, but i dont like too much, the mark it's too big for my taste.
about the inks... the small bottle its the one with the ink. the big bottle own only water because the 951 winsor its too damn thick ffs!!!!!

Wow so much reply. Wow so much reply! Thanks for joining in the discussion. Didn't expect that! Seems like there's a fair bit of people inking in tradition medium be it pens, nibs or brushes. I use to do crow quills.(see below) But I haven't found it suitable for my comic thus I'm using brushes. I also use to ink in Winsor Newton brushes but they no longer make the good ones so I've switched to brush pen which is much more useful in conventions especially doing commissions.

@shazzbaa I'm always impress by ballpoint pen inkers cos I've no idea how they do the thick and thin lines! So much patience!

@apocryphagraphics Hats off to you! Crowquill for the details right?! Are you using an old W&N series 7 brush? The new ones I bought are bad....

I'm a traditional inker but I scan it then do digital toning and coloring.
For my comic I use the G-pen mainly but for my acrylic charms I just use regular art pens.

would you do a test?
1) draw what u want.
2) scan it
3) finish the work with ink (only ink, so b/w)
4) do it again with the digital ink (only digital ink, so b/w)
then lets see how digital trasform our works... im already doing, but im totally newbie in the digital, so... would be nice to see other where can do...
what do u think?
