Who is one of your favorite fictional characters of all time and why?

Asato Tsuzuki from "Descendants of darkness". He's a huge dork who likes food a little bit too much and wants the best for everyone, but he hides under a smile the sad and painful side of him. He was misunderstood and feared in the past, because of being not quite human.

(Also you don't really wanna mess with him.)

Haruhara Haruko from FLCL, because she's a freaking crazy alien riding a vespa and hitting things with a bass guitar and how cool is that?

It's too long to list, but overall my type are the kind, intelligent and down to Earth characters like Steven Universe, Mickey Mouse and such. I find that being a genuinely good person who takes joy in being good says a lot about a character.

One character I think of right now is Missile, a Pomeranian dog, from the video game Ghost Trick.

He's very cute and enthusiastic about life!! But above all, (spoilers) he is so dedicated to his humans that he was willing to turn back time (this game has time traveling) in order to reverse an event that caused pain to his owner. It doesn't work the first time, so tries and tries until he becomes old. His dedication touched me. Such a silly little doggo, but also so loyal.

Wow. So diverse answers. I especially like the Rufus/Deponia one (awesome Games. Should replay them. God I wish I had more time ...). ^^

My favourite charakter is Harley Quinn of the DC universe. Especially the version of "The new 52" (which is the same as DC Universe Rebirth since 52 was cancelled, her story arc though is continuing.)
Although I am normally more fond of Marvel in most cases I adore her the most. She isn't just a nutjob, but also very "human" in it too. Is her (already past) affection to Joker Stockholme Syndrome? Is it madness? Doesn't matter since she emancipated from a "henchman" or "sidekick" status too a main figure. She does a lot of things "good heroes" would do ... only with a much deadlier outcome for most of her opponents (or bypasses), cause she does not play by "standard hero rules" as well as shows that not every plan goes well always (there it is again: the human factor). That way she is like a Deadpool I guess: Good at heart (somewere) but completely whacky.

But if I had to leave major publishers and look at "minor" authors ect. I'd answer Sumika Murimasa from Sasameki Koto. Her character and that whole manga was the reason I wanted to make my own take on a "romance-drama"-comic after all. ^^

I don't know if Gatchmon is really one of my favorite fictional characters of all time or simply the one I relate to the most at this point in time, but I'm going to talk about him.

I'm a big Digimon fan but most of my interest in Digimon is in the creature designs. Gatchmon is the first Digimon who I loved for his personality most of all, specifically how it was portrayed in the Digimon Universe: Applimonsters anime. He's curious but sometimes clueless, a relentless searcher of knowledge, stubborn, detail-oriented, a bit socially unaware, fast-thinking, and loyal most of all. I love Gatchmon so much I have two different plushies of him! And this is from an anime that only aired in Japan!

I also like Zuko from A:tLA for the same reasons that @Kat does. I also particularly like him in Embers by Vathara (a fanfic).

On the topics of fanfics, Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter is another one of my favourite characters--not in canon, but in all the multitude of redemption stories that the fandom has created for him, with all the different journeys of self growth and discovery and becoming a better person.

If it wasn't for the art in the instruction manual for Link's Awakening I wouldn't be drawing the way I do and as I learned to draw I studied the art in the Legend of Zelda games and it really pushed me to get better and find my style.
Plus I love his over all character and different art styles through out the years and in the different games. He has always been an ideal Hero to me haha even with his character always being different in each game

He’s like so very smart but when it comes to basic things or social stuff he’s pretty dense but everyone is so intimidated by him no one corrects him.

He’s exactly the kind of strong self-sacrificial big-hearted stoic (who eventually dies) that I consistently love. Plus he wears a lot of jewelry and simultaneously is a fashion disaster and fashion icon. The man wears 3” high heels even tho he’s stupidly tall already.

Hands down Atton Rand from KOTOR II. He's just so sarcastic and perfect, but has had real pain and (depending on if you go Jedi or Sith in the game) has such a wonderful moment of redemption. And like, he's so self-aware??? Like he knows exactly what he is and why he needs to change and it's so amazing because he can be such a bastard but he internalizes other people's pain and blames himself for it.

Ugh, I love him.

If y'all haven't played Knights of the Old Republic, it's an old game lol but both the first and the second are so amazing and you will not regret it. Pretty sure you can get the first one for your iPhone for $10 XD (Atton Rand appears in game #2 )

An extremely aggressive, loud and angry monster, obsessed with fighting and eating strong warriors.
The level of kinship I feel towards him is one I have yet to feel with another character.

Additionally, he's also really hot.
