Shepherd seemed a little less anxious hearing that. “Who’s Reborn?”

“Never ‘eard of it.” Barrett said as The Multiplex was mentioned.

Callan shook his head ’no’.

“Sky!” Jack excitedly exclaimed.

Ronah narrowed his eyes at the man. It seemed to the Felid that it's a little out of character for Barrett not to pursue it further.

"...what did ya do to him?" He bent down to whisper to Zenith.

"The Multiplex is an extradimensional conceptual space that reacts to and is maintained by ideas of axiology from sapient life throughout the multiverse. It's a shifting spatial labyrinth that depends on what people consider to be valuable, so naturally it's infested with hypercapitalists. The silver lining is that you can get to the Multiplex from almost anywhere, it's just a matter of finding a good enough entry point. Then it's easier to get from within that place to where you want to go, which would include your homeworlds."

“We get to this Multiplex place, we get ‘ome.” Barrett said. “So where’s the entrance?”

The apparition evaporated.

“If there’s anything you need to take care of while you’re here, now is the time time do it,” Bill said, glad that Kaizou understood.

“Reborn is a company that builds robots, like me,” Melvin explained. “They’re the ones who transplant souls into machines so they can continue living!”

“London is a city in Great Britain,” Bills said to Shepherd. “And it’s far away from here. You won’t be in our hair, and you also won’t be in danger. It’s the best place you can go, for now.”

“Same.” Callan agreed with Flor.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Shepherd.” The elf introduced himself to Melvin.

“So how are we gettin’ ter London?” Barrett asked Bills.

Melvin smiled. “Nice to meet you too,” his chest monitor read.

“He’s leading you there,” Bills nodded to Melvin. “Some of you can ride with him on the dragon, to cut down on the number of planes we’ll have to send with you to get you there.”

Shepherd smiled after reading the monitor. “Is your dragon friendly?”

“She’s very wary around strangers,” Melvin said. “As well as quite protective of me. But she’s a loyal friend, and that’s all I could ask for.”

Melvin’s eyes seemed to fill with stars at the sight of Connie. He hadn’t even noticed she was there. “Oh, she’s lovely!” his chest read.

Charlie walked up to Melvin and Connie as well to see what all the fuss was about.
