"Don't get too close, they sting." Kaizou gently placed a hand on Jack's shoulder.

He nodded along with Zenith's suggestion. "Maybe start slow. He's making great progress on speech and from what I've seen, he's a talented artist, too." He smiled.

Jack smiled and showed his cast to Kaizou, which now featured some of his art (abstract scribbles at best).

“It’s not his age that’s the problem, it’s his temperament.” Barrett said. “Some kids just aren’t cut out to be killers.” He’d lost enough to know that.

Callan frowned at the floor as he eavesdropped.

Callan didn’t want to lie to Flor, or make her worry, so he settled for a smile… albeit a troubled one.

“Do you think there’s another me out there that never…….” He abandoned whatever he was going to say and shook his head. “Doesn’t matter.”

“I…” Callan struggled to answer that. To the point where he repeatedly opened his mouth, only for absolutely nothing to come out. He felt a swell of panic coming on and decided to make himself scarce.

“-need the privy.” The teen blurted out, before hurrying away to go and find an unattended plane to hide behind.

“Sit! Fetch! Speak!” Jack said excitedly as Zenith mentioned tricks. That’s what the humans back home would say to puppy Jack. The boy licked his lips, because it usually meant food was involved.

“He’s just gonna teach him how ter prance around with ribbons.” Barrett reassured Waffle, whilst simultaneously teasing Zenith.

Callan sought out some privacy to try and catch his breath. He paced beside the plane and scolded himself.

Zenith gave Barrett a amused yet plotting smile. "Yes...ribbons." he ruffled Jack's hair. "Fancier than that Jack, so you can stay safe and protect your family."

Morris sighed. “Captain Fleetwood is meeting you all here in about half an hour. Of course, now I’ll have to tell him that he’s picking up around thirty people instead of just one person. So if you’ll excuse me, I have to send him a message.
