Why are most of the locked comics by Korean artists/authors?

I dunno if it's just me, but lately I've noticed that almost every single locked comic that you have you use coins or keys or whatever to unlock are all written by Korean authors and artists.
Is there any reason for this or is it just a weird coincidence?

Professional webcomics are huge (as in actually mainstream) in Korea, so there's a lot to import. I imagine most creators of those comics are established pros with strong track records, so there's a good chance the comic will reach the ending instead of dying off prematurely. Some of them may even have been completed pre-import.

webtoons, webtoons likes to have korean comics and they pich the sucessful ones here and then the artist locks them inorder to get traffic on webtoons. aka money.

Sadly to tell you that those locked comic that you see on Tap app are usually exclusive to Tapastic and cannot be found on Webtoon. They really have nothing to do with Webtoon. Webtoon is a free comic service, every comic you find on Webtoon are free to read, including those in featured section. Webtoon makes money off of trafic and they pay their artists salary monthly, not through key or coin.

Back to the topic, I'm with @keii4ii, pretty sure because they are professional comics that was exclusively imported to Tapastic, that is why you should be paying them even just a little for their work. I have seen the same thing on Lezhin with their key and coin system, the similar thing can be found on other Chinese novel site too. Not everything professionally done is free.

Most sites that has official webtoon translations, Lezhin, Tappytoon, Spottoon, and Tapastic does this. LINE Webtoon isn't pay to view. At least for Spottoon, their webtoons do have a period when you can view them for free.

They're all comics from publishing companies in Korea (or at least most). I'm not fully aware of all the details, but I know Tapastic does have an office in Seoul, so I'm sure deals are being made with the Korean publishing companies to import them over here.

I do know that Tapastic has links to Daum and Nate. Spottoon has links to Daum, Comico, and Mr Blue. Tappytoon has links to Daum, Comico, Comica, and Bomtoon. Lezhin is just Lezhin whether it's in Korea, Japan, or the US. I was surprised to learn there's at least a dozen webtoon portals in Korea other than Naver and Daum.
