It's not wrong to like what you like. It's wrong to expect others to cater to your tastes without putting forth any real energy or effort though, or offering any compensation whatsoever for playing to your tastes. This just looks like you're complaining without having expended any effort, or you'd probably realize that straight romance is the norm, and it's everywhere.
Hetero romance is all over the place, it's in all media, including shoehorned in where it honestly doesn't fit. You can't turn around without running into another straight romance story. The fact that Tapastic has some popular gay and BL titles, and that the authors feel comfortable enough to put their comics here and promote them here, is something I think is great since we are still dealing with serious discrimination and marginalization even now.
And no, gay/BL comics are not just done for the views, and no, gay/BL comics do not just instantly get thousands of views or subscribers. You actually have to work at it, and gayness does not equal an easy ticket to fame and fortune.
To be honest, I'm getting a little tired of the whining and the passive-aggressive snipes at gay/BL creators and fans. If you want to read hetero romance, there's no end of stories that revolve around that. If you want to do a comic around that, great! But it's not the fault of gay-oriented, gay, or BL creators or their comics if you're not getting the views and subscribers you would like. It takes a lot of work and indeed a lot of luck to get the eyes you need on your work. Keep trying your best, think about all the options available to you, and don't dwell on easy, handy scapegoats instead of actually addressing the problem.
One of the most valuable things I ever heard was in the brilliant "A Fat Rant." by Joy Nash. To paraphrase, we are doing ourselves a disservice every time we dwell on one single issue and use it as the explanation for all shortcomings, failures, and weaknesses. We never have to work on any real aspect of anything, as long as there's a handy excuse that must be the reason why something is happening or isn't happening. That ends up causing far more problems than it solves, including demonizing people who have nothing to do with your problems, and I'm not here for that.
