Why are there so many villainess comics?

Ok, why are there so many villainess comics?
I know that they're popular, but they all seem to follow the story path of "blonde girl gets isekai-d into semi-victorian world where she has to be the villainess."
Why are they so oversaturated? What's the appeal?

I'm not sure about novels, but a lot of the villainess webcomic in Tapas seems to come from Korea. Made by Korean women to be consumed (primarily) by Korean women. In the current conservative Korean culture, Korean women can get called a feminist b**ch and doxxed for even daring to cut their hair short or not wear makeup.
