Well I've mentioned elsewhere it's not because I like drawing. But maybe ... it is, in a way? As in, I dislike writing prose even more
Just because I like drawing better than writing prose, doesn't mean I like drawing on an absolute level XD
Now that makes me wonder, if I liked drawing and writing prose an equal amount, which medium would I choose? After all, prose is faster to produce, so choosing writing means the story costs me less time to produce.
... still drawing tbh. The illustrated medium is just closer to my vision for my stories (which I mostly envision as anime or video games in their 'ideal' form), and there are certain things that I just cannot imagine ever conveying accurately and vividly via prose no matter how gud I git.
If my solo-produced version of my story will be the final version, then drawing is unavoidable. (Even if I am banking on it being adapted, having a visual version gives it better chances, I feel.)
In general, I like to find a medium that best intersects with my vision of the story and my strengths and weaknesses as a creator, even if it doesn't fit neatly into the category of 'comic'/'novel'/'film'/etc
Like, bitwam is basically a glorified storyboard with all panels being the same horizontal rectangle so I don't have to deal with composition, and I plan to have animated sections for the more long-winded monologues/dialogues because I find talking and expressions relatively easy to animate, while also making the section more fun to look at (and thus less boring to get through)
And I also plan to experiment with visual novels, which replaces the parts I hate most about prose (describing scenery) with something I sometimes find satisfying about art (drawing scenery) while also letting what I find sometimes fun about prose (describing character expressions/mannerisms) take over for some of the art
Not so for me; I personally am not attached to being a creator in a particular medium and I wouldn't mind writing novels for the rest of my life if I happen to finish all my comics and all the stories I think up since then happen to work best as novels
(For instance, The Metaphysicist is something I feel works best as a piece of prose; it just wouldn't be the same without the footnotes and everything, and I never even considered making it into a comic XD)
