Why Do You Guys Do Sub 4 Sub? They Don't Work Y'Know

Came back to forums to advertise novel, but a lot of people still be obsessed with Sub4Sub MORE THAN BEFORE.

Here's why it doesn't work:

The people in your forum may not be consistent in reading your story. Consistency is key. You shouldn't be looking for quick number bursts. You should be looking for loyalty.

Loyalty will bring more eyes to whatever you do.

I dunno, just wanted to bring that out here.

It's still useful to post here btw in looking for loyalty. Promotions do work for new readers but like blatant sub 4 sub is never the way to go.

Most people know. If you look at the sub4sub threads it's always the same few people who do a lot of work to make it work for them + whoever's new enough or naïve to how algorithms tend to work.

The newbies eventually learn from experience and change or just grow bitter wondering why it's not working. Thing is, they don't know what they don't know and if you want everyone to be aware you'll spend your time repeating yourself, sometimes to kids too blinded by the dream of fame to listen yet.

I sub4sub works when I like the works and I interact with the creators. Other than that, I don't do pure sub for sub

The second I learned about muting categories, I blocked Promotions so fast. The forums became a lot more enjoyable after that. 'Cause, yeah. Sub4Sub is all you see otherwise.

Sub4sub has accounted for roughly 20% of my subs. The other 80% is via other places (discord, deviantart, reddit, Facebook, YouTube, etc)

Hey, I read all my comic S4S. And I make sure to at least view and like the novels. The reason I engage with those threads is to support the newbies (I skip the obvious AI threads), since I know how tough it is to do those first few months of a comic. My main goal with the forums is to make fellow creator friends, so s4s is just "Hello."

I can't stand folks that put up a dozen or so s4s threads for the same comic back to back though. It is just the same people each time, after all. There's only a dozen or so regulars on these forums.
