Why do you make comics?

I'm sorry to hear your family don't support your dream of making comics. Maybe they need a little persuasion. Also I like that line, "if you don't fight for your dream, in the future the past will haunt you". I believe its important to pursue your passion otherwise your life may not feel complete.

About 9 years ago my friend went to an Anime Con and brought some of my drawings with her. She went over to one of the tables where an artist was selling her comic, she had her look at my work, and she said my work was amazing and told my friend to tell me that I should get working on a story. So I took that artist's advice

It's a lot of work but I have fun doing it most of the time.

That must be a great feeling when someone see the potential of your work and encourages you to pursue it. At the end of the day everyone creates comics because its fun right?

Did you ever get to meet this artist that inspired you?

Yeah, it's pretty encouraging especially since I didn't have a whole lot of faith in my artwork back then.
Unfortunately, I've never met the artist who encouraged me to pursue in my art and since this was such a long time ago I can't remember the name of the artist my friend was talking about. I've never been to an anime con in my entire life or any kind of con in general. But hopefully, that will change this spring.

I need to write everyday. I decided that to make sure I never skip a day, I'd post my work every week. But truth be told, I'm not a fiction writer. I studied playwriting in college, and because of that I prefer scripts. Well, you can't really post just a script, so I might as well add artwork. Then boom, I started making comics.

Over the last year, I've really grown attached to the medium. I've read many different comics (graphic novels, webcomics, ect.) to try and understand what I'm doing. I really enjoy it. There is a lot a comic can say that a book, play, movie can't. So that is the new reason I'm doing this every week.

Believe in your own ability as an artist is important be cause you can feel proud and have fun doing it. I went to an Con a few years ago and it was so nerve racking for me. On the bright side I gave away 20 flyers for my comic I was working on at the time.

I draw everyday as well,for the most part because its fun and fulfilling. I recently studying other's comics more closer to see the method in which they tell their story.
