Why does romance manga become popular so quickly?

Because people like the feeling of being loved or being in love, and will enjoy self-inserting themselves into the characters.

Some people never really feel this kind of thing in life, so romance stories are one way of doing so - but not in my case! I'm a strong boi, none of that bothers me! Haha! Hahaha.....

Personally, I don't get why people always complain about romance in stories. In life, most human beings (people), are looking for love. It's in most people's biology to want children and a family. Naturally, that writing would be popular.

It's simple high supply and demand.

Romance readers in general tend to consume at a much faster rate than readers of other genres. This means there is always a demand for romance stories. No matter how high the supply, there will always be a high demand to match it. Which is why most romances comics and novels tend to get popular very fast.

Jokes aside, not everything gets instantly popular because of the oversaturation of the genre. Some do, others don't. But just appreciate the people that are subbed, whether it's 20 or 20k.

actually i see those ads even when i leave tapas. anyone heard of lezhin? they are a site that hosts a bunch of comics and their ads usualy have two guys 2 seconds away from fricking each other i see their ads all the time on instagram, webtoon, here and even other places sometimes.

I know Tapas is international, but at least in the US romance printed comics are non-existent. Super heroes rule the day. So, manga and webcomics are a GREAT outlet for romance lovers in the US. So they are super popular! I'd say 50% of the comics I follow are romance.

ah yes, i forget that superheroes are predominantly anerican. so i would agree in saying that romance isn’t that popular in the US! fact most fairytales are actually not american, but european and otherwise, so even though they are familiar to us, i guess there really isn’t a strong call for romance here in america so readers can get their fix online!

WOWWW....this inspires me to one day be in charge of a studio where artists are treated like how they should be treated, equal. if i could id start up a company right now and do it but heyyy legal fees and LLC's and laws.... a guy can dream...
