Why/should you delete your comic series?

Hello everyone. I'm new to this site. I see that some people have deleted or are planning to delete their comic series but that seemed odd to me. Would you please tell me why you or someone else will/have delete(d) a series? Is it acceptable here to keep ALL of the series you have finished or discontinued even if there are a lot of them? Or is it looked down upon or considered annoying or anything of the sort?

I think the two reasons I've seen people delete their comics is either they join Hiveworks or they get frustrated and quit.

If your comic is up and unfinished, it isn't really annoying since no one would see it unless they were looking for it/on your profile. Your readers might get sad though, if they were invested in your story and it just stopped without an ending.

I can understand why some would delete their series for personal reasons, whatever those may be.

But it always saddens me to go through my reading list and see that a series I liked is no longer there, especially really good ones that barely got started.

I have never deleted a series, but I can imagine reason why I would.
If I have a series that isn't my taste anymore and stopped working on it, I wouldn't want to get reminded of it's existence I'd delete it for sure.
I upload my comics because I want people to see it, so if I don't like it anymore it wouldn't make sense to have it online right?.

Probably just out of frustration? They wanted to make it big and feel like they haven't accomplished anything or that people don't realize their talent. Overly emotional people. Ha.

The only time I've deleted a series is when I was certain I wouldn't be starting it like at all for a few years. I had one premade for a comic I was planning a few years before but I ended up starting Spire instead so I got rid of it since it was just taking up empty space.

Whoa, no need to be so negative. Some people no longer want to be associated with their past project for completely understandable reasons (e.g. it's sending out a harmful message that they didn't realize at the time). Plus, people can be frustrated with their projects even if they've never had any unrealistic expectations of success!

Is it just better then to keep the comic up if it would never be finished but the creator doesn't have any real inclination to delete it? Thank you (and everyone) for letting me know about these things.

If the creator has decidedly not to finish it. I think it's best they leave a note at the end, saying they won't continue it and leave it up for posterity, especially if it's the only series they have. That way when they make a new series, subscribers to the old one will be notified.

I think that's the ultimate power/diva move.... Now I wanna delete BioHazard lmao! (jk I'm not THAT insane!) It's like Beyonce dropping a secret album overnight but in reverse. I haven't worked on YHIMC (my other series) in a loong time but I don't see a reason to delete it. It still gets me views and subs, so that's a good thing because it links to BH which is my main series.

I do get sad when I see series I subbed to disappear, without notice, because I start thinking that maybe the creator was just not feeling well with their progress or what not. I hope people think twice if they are really planning to delete a series because there's no going back from that.

Yeah, I also think it might be out of frustration. As a reader I would be puzzled to find that what I was following just vanished. What it hurts to leave it there. It's Tapastic - not Snapchat. Can you imagine that you have a printed comic and decide to go through bookstores ripping every copy apart?
Also, there is a button in the settings to mark the series complete. That way your readers know that's it, but new people can enjoy it.

I deleted a comic because it was a slice of life and i wasn't happy with the style, name etc it only had 2 episodes so it wasn't a big deal but i wanted to do a different style of comic so deleted it...

I didn't feel like it was overly negative. Just an observation. But someone said something similar to mine..perhaps you can mention them as well.

I can't find the button that marks the series complete. (And I checked the settings thoroughly as far as I can tell )

It's in your series details, the tab right next to the episode tab so
dashboard -> series -> click the edit button on your series -> details -> all the way at the bottom of the page right above the 'delete' button

and I think creators have the right to delete their series no matter what, and its kinda rude to assume some are doing it for attention lmao. if that was the case i'd feel like they'd kick up a fuss that they were going to delete their series, but not actually go through with it.

On the other hand - that would be a great marketing: launch a series and tell everyone that each episode will only be visible for given amount of days.

I really want to delete all of my comics sometimes because I constantly worry someone might actually read them XD
but on the other hand I can't be bothered to even do that ×_×
