Why web comic have to be color?

In your opinion, why webcomic have to be color?
Isn't it be good in black white version like manga???

There's no rule that say a webcomic (in this case the 'infinite scroll' one) have to be in color, you can just make it in monochrome and its going to be fine.

But the majority probably going to be more attracted to the colorful art rather then the bleak black and white one, since well, its more colorful?

Webcomics use color to show things usually unseen in black-and white. Say, like hair color. Or stoplights.
Black and white has its charm. It's cheaper, and its a style that's as old as time.

Both are good in their own rights, but it's even better if you combine them.
If you want a great example, I suggest reading the Scott Pilgrim series. Really great use of blacks and color.

Um...no.
Colour is just an accessory to the plot. It doesn't need to, but if it will make your plot look better, then go for it.

You got to master how to use the colours though.
Using colours is hard, but once you got the hang of it, you'll get some views.
Heck, you might get to premium. Not sure.

If I don't get it wrong, you need to have 2000 sub (or less, I forgot) and at least 3 chapters have to be out, and then you can mail tapas about your wish to become a premium creator on tapas.

they dont have to be.some of my favourite colours are in monochrome. im not a big fan of straight black and white myself, i like a colour tint.

premium series on tapas have to be in colour because thats tapas' house style - same for the reasoning about infinite scroll and episode size.

I run a black and white premium comic, and so does Darkbox. Honey Catch is another premium comic that's in black and white. It's not a requirement, just a general tendency since usually color makes it more likely for people to pull out their wallets when it comes to online content.

The incubator program is different. Color is required there.

Basically here's the thing, most web comics are in color because they can be. Manga tends to be black and white because they're printed in cheap volumes, and black and white is cheaper and easier to print. The reason so many "manga style" web comics are also in black and white is because they're trying to make something that looks like the printed manga does.

Your comic doesnt HAVE TO be color- you can make it blk & white if you want. There are plenty of black & white comics on here that do well.

Well. Explained In graphic design terms , Japanese manga is made in B&W with sketchtones because they are prepared for print. That means less cost fast developing of a product and great sales.

Now the colored one works with digital platforms like PC and mobile phones. So why work in black and white if is not for printing? They need a colored visualization of the comic.

If you are going to work B&W the drawing style have to be very appealing.

i mean, there's a premium comic out that doesn't have panel borders or even backgrounds for nearly all the panels so if your concept is good enough i'm sure they'll be willing to accept a black and white comic.
