Why won't tapas allow me to paste my writings when trying to upload the first episode of my novel?

When I left click with my mouse I don't see the paste option, I wrote the first episode of my story on Microsoft word, I'm just trying to copy and paste what I've written but its not working.

What should I do?

Have you tried using Ctrl+V to paste? That might work.

First off, you right click to see the paste option, not left click. A left click is just a click, but a right click brings up the contextual menu which should have a "Paste" option. But as PrettiMidnight as pointed out, CTRL+C to copy, CTRL+V to paste

EDIT I just checked, the option to paste is indeed there if you right click. I'm glad I did this check though - I just noticed, after using computers for over 30 years, that there is a "paste as plain text" option. Which, if my experience in importing text from MS word has taught me anything, is what you want to do, otherwise the formatting can get wonky.

No, I won't recommend that if you have italicized any words, since it misses that. Just simply click on 'paste' or ctrl+v and any unnecessary formatting is already removed by Tapas on its own.

I find that Tapas doesn't play nice with documents written and formatted in Word, and things like line spacing and kearning get messed up. Even having text centered instead of justified left can make it weird.

It's kind of funny when you think about it though, that the text editing box on this forum is more robust and usable than the one on Tapas' main site...
