I'm aware of that, my point was more that this person seems convinced they will get cancelled for things they did as a child, simply because the internet cancels all people for the hell of it, when they claim not to think they have a big enough following that getting ahead of it and confronting it will matter, but also that they're popular enough people will care. I'm trying to make sense of just what they think being cancelled is and what it means to them that they're so afraid of it and convinced it will happen. (And we know how big the accusations are, they're that they did some shit when they were 11 and younger). They keep saying "I'm afraid of being cancelled" my question was what do they think "being cancelled" will mean to make them so afraid of it.
As I said, if they're that scared, that convinced it will happen, and that convinced it's a big deal and that confronting it will do no good, get off the internet. You don't get into a car if you're convinced someone is going to ram into you just because they dislike you for something you did as a kid and they can. The internet has risk, assess them and act accordingly.
