Yes I can already imagine the bullying.
My birth name (which I don't use and don't really want to reveal, you'll understand why) is popular in English-speaking countries, but when I was born in 1980 in France it was quite rare. I got it because my parents were living in Ireland, and were completely oblivious of the reputation it had in France. It was known only from low quality TV series in which it was generally given to superficial, idiotic characters.
As a kid, I was bullied because of that. As an adult, I got plenty of surprised comments, because people don't expect a person called like that to be like me.
It's pretty depressing to me. I can understand people think my parents were not super cultured to give me a name inspired from stupid series, but that's depressing to know they think such kids have no chances to become more sophisticated...
