Imagine you got sent to a game world, of course you were afraid before entering it since no refusing was allowed or information was provided. But when you wake up in that world, your body is set to the best condition a human can possibly have. Blind? Disabled? Deaf? In chronic pain? Not anymore. Not that any of these conditions are something to look down upon, but for some, living with them has meant suffering, isolation, and the feeling of a life shaped by limits rather than choice.
After leaving the first level of the game, you return to what you believe is reality. Little by little, you discover it is only a reflection. Not the best version, but not the worst either. Your family is there, wearing familiar faces, yet something is missing. You are still yourself, still in your body, but free from the condition that once defined you, the one that had slowly cultivated despair, resentment, and even thoughts of ending your life.
Would you fight to return to the real world, with all its pain and truth, or would you fight to remain in this warped reality, where the suffering is gone but nothing is fully real?
The mc in my story doesn't have any condition, but I am trying to hear thoughts for other players along her in the game who do.
By the way, if you were the mc, and found out reality is not what it used to be, what can you even do? Just wait until all you pass all the levels of the game to see what is the outcome? Strangers watch you if you step outside and family is just faces mimicking the real one.
