Would you still read a comic if a few pages are confusing af?

My comic in the first 3 chapters was a mess, but after rebubbling and re adding text in then they seem fine.
But here's some background. I did this traditionally and originally wrote it all in mandarin, then on Ms paint added English text because I did not have a tablet. Sometimes the words were bigger than in English as i was planning so the bubbles would jump off panels.
Therefore in some pages I literally cannot make the words and bubbles less confusing unless I actually redid them, which I want to avoid doing, because why would readers want a flip flop in quality?
So what do yall think, would you ignore the crowded lettering in some pages in a comic?

I would be a bit annoyed if this was how the entire comic is done. I don't think it's too difficult to follow, it's just a bit crowded, but not bad. Going forward I would expect better quality, though, if the quality does not improve I would either stop reading or unsubscribe completely from the comic.

I think it's fine for the most part. A little bit all over the place but the colors help recognize who's speaking.
We learn as we draw. It's always gonna get better. (Hopefully).
The only thing is that these first pages would be a readers first impression. You might loose a few.
That's fine with me. They'll get on board on the next comic!

Sometimes I worry if my pages start to get too confusing, just gotta know that in some circumstances less is more.

Yeah, this definitely concerns me. I am redoing my older pages right now because I don't want them to drive readers away, you could do this, too, @blacknwhiteeagle100, it's a bit more work but it's worth it on the long run.

Oh dude, yeah, stumbling upon your comic NOW, going back to read through, I definitely wouldn't unsubscribe just because the beginning pages are a bit on the garish side. It's clear that you've found a proper. cleaner format and that you're improving the flow of the bubbles and text (your advancement is really nice visually).

I know that for my pages, the art/my technical ability at the beginning aren't a good reflection of the entire comic. And I'm pretty sure most veteran readers are aware of this.

Yeah I totally feel that. I hope that's in like the first 10 pages or so because the ones i put up are like in the 18's and like....ggggggg
a surefire way is to have bacon bits to lure in the readers but unfortunately that's just not plausible

I'm taking the other approach. Not redoing anything. Webcomics are also interesting to see the artist's progression.
What if your first pages turn out way better than the rest...
The trick is to work on smaller projects, so you can start fresh everytime it's completed. Mine will be 130 pages. It's not small but not over epic either...

I don't think I would unsubscribe from a story just for a few confusing pages. I usually just wait for an explanation for what those pages were about when that happens. I like to speculate on stuff so I don't see a reason for not a reading a story just because a scene didn't make sense to me yet!

well yes artist progression is fun to see! but most of the time that interest more other artist than regular readers that just wanna read webcomic that are easy to follow! it depends on if you wanna broaden the audience! but don't give up! you do what you feel you need to do! stay in the groove!

I really like the coloring on the first page. Its really unique.
I dont know if you used digital coloring on the later pages but they seem really bland and kinda pixaly.

And the text bubbles really fill up the page. It looks like it hides the art and thats a shame because its really good!

Thanks so much for your commentary! Yeah the beginning 60+ pages I somehow did it with traditional. So redoing them all would be such.....a sucker of time to say the least. However for the longest time I was like...I focused a lot more energy on whether or not the feel of the pages is beautiful or whatever, and then the actually text boxes came across as REALLY hard to read at times, mostly because I first penciled it in English then wrote Chinese then scanned the damn picture and typed up English in MS PAINT lol plus I was thinking more along reading the page in 9x12 inch and....yikes
It's such a shame, because really big text boxes can make the page feel cozy, but there are times when you can't literally do anything to make the page better besides redoing it. So I guess the most you can do is hope that readers won't be put off by the burnt edges.
