Hello! I’m a writer, and I have a number of projects I’ve worked on before. Lately, I’ve decided to finally settle down and make one happen.
The Pitch: Four friends in a dying town somehow obtain telekinetic powers. Their choice of how to use their newfound strength will have catastrophic consequences, not only on their lives, but on their friendship.
This story’s exact setting will be left ambiguous, but it will take place on the West Coast of the United States at some point between the 80s and early 2000s (broad, I know). The town, Seaworth, is wholly fictional, but is based on various real locations.
The story will at least touch on some dark themes- such as abuse, gang violence and addiction. It won’t be blatant or anything, but it will form an important part of the backdrop and context for the various main characters, and will inform their decisions.
As for payment, this’ll be a paid deal. We can work out the exact price, but something like 20/25 dollars per one-page update was my idea. I’m also looking for a fairly long-term partnership, so ideally I’d be looking for an artist with no pressing obligations that may interfere.
I’m looking for someone capable of drawing in a fairly grounded, realistic style- the character designs aren’t exaggerated or cartoony, they’re ’real’ people. An anime-inspired style isn’t bad, but think more along the lines of Attack on Titan rather than JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, lol. The comic will all be in black and white, maybe with occasional colored objects for emphasis.
There will be some fights, and large-scale destruction, so I’m looking for someone capable of drawing such- buildings getting punched through, large shockwave effects, floating debris and that sort of thing. Not a lot of fire or explosions.
For deadlines, I’m thinking about maybe weekly updates. But that’s tentative, and we can discuss it in further detail.
I can be contacted here, via private messages. I’d love a sample of your artwork to see what you have to offer.
Thanks for taking the time to consider my offer!
